Good morning! Wow, I am so happy I don't have to work today. Yesterday was long and after three days in a row, I was dag-gone pooped out. I only worked 4 hours, but it's a lot. I didn't feel like 4 hours, the sessions really fly by. But between the physical part of the job and the mental work-- poooooped out.
Breakfast with the family was awesome. Caitlyn didn't have a meeting until 11, so she hung out with us, just needed to check work emails as they came in. My dad's hearing was 90% out again, but he and Scott were able to chat. Scott was showing him photos of his last camping trip with the new additions of a sink/kitchen prep area. His car camping "kitchen" is nicer than my in-the-house kitchen. Hahah! I was teasing Scott that if I had a dime every time someone came up to me on Earth day to say what a nice guy he is, I'd have alotta dimes. He said that if it were the other way around, he'd also have a lotta dimes. He was disappointed that I didn't hang out afterward, he was in the office visiting with the crew. And get this-- that is when he took and sent the photos of The Best Chris to Caitlyn. Everyone was in the office voting on them. I though that he had taken a quick pic and sent it to Caitlyn for the giggles. Apparently, they had a vote!
I had him send me the photos. I promise there will be a LO at some point.
HS was both fun and challenging. The plans and activities were great! Again, the compost in a bag was a hit. I am struggling with how to reach one boy, He didn't want to participate in anything we did. He stayed with the group, so at least he wasn't wandering off. Building the worm jar was awesome. I found the *perfect* area to collect the pebbles, sandy soil, rich soil, and dead leaves. We layered the jar, it was beautiful! Then we went to dig for worms... no luck! We looked for them until it was time to clean up and head down for pick up. I was going to bring the jar home and find some worms in my small compost pile and bring it back. Lauren and one of the kids flipped a couple of rocks in the picnic grove and they found 2!! Popped them in the jar, gave them some water and compost, and took a few pictures to share with them next week. I won't show the photo I have of the worms, in case anyone is squeamish. But here is the jar itself

I'd love to say today is a day off and rest but it is not. I have laundry and housework. Gary and I are going to run to get some seed starting soil for some veggie seeds. End of the month stuff here and catching up on bills and emails. Yikes, I am pretty tired thinking about it!
