10 Years?! I Can Hardly Believe It!

I had one of those “wait, what?!” moments this week… because I realized I’ve been designing here at Oscraps for TEN YEARS.

Can you believe it?! A whole decade of pixels, paint, and playing with paper (digital or otherwise!)—and it all started with a random internet search to figure out what to do with all my photos. I had no clue that digital scrapbooking would be the creative spark I didn’t even know I needed.

Before that, I was your classic techie—very left-brained, Type A, couldn’t draw a stick figure to save my life. But something clicked, and before long I had art supplies everywhere, a head full of ideas, and a heart full of joy. You know the feeling, right?

Congratulations on your anniversary!

I don't remember the year I started but it was well over 12 years ago with a large break in between. I've been back scrapping for about three years now.
 
Congratulations on your ten year anniversary, Vicki!

I started paper scrapping in early 1996, shortly after my first grandchild was born. Yikes 29 years ago!:wow::wow2: My DD and I wen to a Creative Memories party. We went to We went to a Creative Memories Scrapbooking party. Well, I got the bug bad, and my DD stayed with it for awhile, then dropped off.

I started dabbling with digital, probably around early 2011. The Becky Higgins Project Life app had just been released only on Apple phones (in 2010) and I had an Android I thought I'd wait on the Android app to come out but it kept getting delayed. I finally got an Apple phone and an iPad, just so I could use that app. I also started playing around with PSe at about the same time.
 
How is it possible that it has been 10 years already?? That is insane!! :crazy: I started digi scrapping in I think 2007/2008 but found the O in 2009 its been a wonderful journey! So I am like a dinosaur here :giggle4:
 
Vicki, we go back a long way, first at SAS and you designed under Greeneyed Lady Designs, then again at SBG and of course you then came here to the O!! :heartpumpred: :hug2:

I started digi in 2008, found Oscraps in 2009 and came on board as a CheeryO, so yeah, I am a dinosaur as well Trudy! @taxed4ever :giggle4: but of course Moses @faerywings :greengrin: beats both of us for being here the longest! :lol23::lol23:
 
Vicki, I feel like it has been much longer than 10 years that you have been here. I can't imagine the O without you. :hug3:
It could also be that I am Moses and my brain has deteriorated and I don't remember anything anymore. :thinking2:

Let me try that again. I met Vicki Stegall online before Oscraps was even a thing. Vicki had a blog and gave away freebies.
(Remember when digital scrapping was mostly just freebie sites? And the paper/digi "wars?" LOL Good times :rotfl:)
Anyway, I followed/stalked Vicki's blog, and when she turned the blog into the O, I was thrilled to sign up!

Congrats, Vicki R on such a fantastic milestone!!

Congrats! What a great sale. I think I need a few things from your shop and a sale is just the right push. I have been scrapbooking for almost 30 years. Way back in the paper days with creative memories and then when digi started I took about 2 years to really cross over into it.

I know, right? I started scrapping about the same time you - my first forum was the Digital Design Dem and it was those owners — Sandy Collins and Robyn Littlejohn who encouraged me to start designing. I'll be forever grateful to them both!

Wow TIff! That's a long time! I'm so happy about that! We never scrapbooked as kids, and now I realize just how much I missed!
 
I am so glad something clicked cause I love your stuff!

I began paper scrapping in 1997. I first tried digital scrapbooking in 2006 just to prove to David I wouldn't like it. lol I fell in love almost immediately and have been all digi ever since. I first started posting at Oscraps in 2008 when I joined Merkeley Designs' CT. (And it just dawned on me that next year, I'll have been digi for 20 years. I may have to delete this entire post or pretend I started digiscrapping at the age of 9.)
 
Congrats on your 10 years, Vicki. I too am glad something clicked, because I love your creations too. They look like you've been designing much longer than 10 years! I can't remember when I started, but it was more than ten years ago. I stopped designing when my hubby passed in 2008. But, after a few years I knew I couldn't stop altogether and came back to offer my help to other designers. Looking forward to seeing your beautiful work over the next ten years!! ♥

I don't think so, cause I think I am just learning you were on Merkee's team too. I agree, she was such a sweetheart.
