Happy St Patrick's Day!
Yup, the elf is as close as I could find to a leprechaun. Hope that it works for you

How was everyone's weekend? I was cranky and stayed cranky. I gave myself permission to have a Pity Party Day yesterday. The plan was that today I'd wake up, get myself together, and have a better mindset. It might have worked had I not been wide awake for hours last night. On the bright side, I listened to a few podcasts about turkey tail mushrooms, wildflower ephemerals, and beekeeping.
Fun fact: Turkey tail tastes like wood because they ingest the dead wood that they grow on. They are not edible as food but can be made into tea and tinctures for their medicinal properties. *blinks*
Yeah, not super helpful to know this at 2 am.

My funny feeder video of the day was of a squirrel that fell off of the feeder. I don't know if he literally fell off but he was there on the feeder one second and then disappeared with his arms flying out to the side.

Plans for today:
1. Get into a better mood.
2. Keep trying to achieve #1.

hugs!!

Good morning ladies. I spent some time in my office this morning, unpacking gems and jewelry supplies. I stockpiled a lot of supplies to get started in my biz and now have busy organizing and putting into jars and organizers. I've about 3/4 organized so almost caught up. Then I can put away as I receive deliveries, not falling behind again. I finally got my IG up and running. Nothing fancy, I don't even know how to do the videos/reels or whatever they are called yet. I'll work on that at a later date but for now I can start posting pics of my designs and will get cards made up as soon as I get my biz license (just have to make sure my biz name isn't taken) before I get anything printed. It's all done online now so it's so much easier than when I had to get my photography license.
Congrats and good luck! I am so excited for you!
Oh wow, that sounds scary about your friend, I hope the surgery went well and that he is back home soon.
It sounds like you have a great community, very helpful and respectful Can't get better than that!

I will restart using the pump on my upper body since I didn't have surgery there. Just not ready mentally but soon I need to so the lymph system starts moving properly.
I am cheering you on. That mental hurdle and resistance is a PITB but you got this!!
(That is how I feel about taking Tinadamx and going mammograms- I'll do it but I am gonna grumble about it the entire time LOL)
What in the world did your DS do to his foot that he couldn't even shower for 6 weeks!?!?
Did you follow home around the house with a can of Febreeze? :rotfl:
I saw some LOs at the bottom of the thread-- I didn't get a chance to look at them yet but TFS!

@BrightEyes your eyes must have been blurring after looking at all of the photos on the ExHD. You were able to get everything squared away other than the 2022 chip?
You always amaze me that you can think coherently after getting into bed. Once I am in bed, I am there (aside from needing to go to the bathroom) until morning, like it or not.
I love it when a LO comes together like that so maybe it's worth it ;)
Glad that your sister was ok traveling with the winds and dust storms.

I didn't make it on here at all yesterday! Was on my feet in the kitchen all day long (literally!) working on my freezer meals! I could only go so far because I was waiting on my grocery order to complete them! I didn't get them finished! I worked on the pork tenderloin chops first. Then worked on the chicken thighs (boneless, skinless). I will work on the beef today. Mostly cutting the meat up for the recipes. Then, depending on how I feel (motivated or not) after getting it cut up, I may or may not finish up the freezer bags! I sure hope all this work is worth it!
I am sure that it will be. Think about all the times that Kay reaches into her freezer for a frozen dinner. Won't that feel awesome?

When I was living with Ilene after Tim died and before Mark and I got married.....when we started dating, he would come to Ilene's for supper just about every night. Several times Ilene would fix the blackberry cobbler or blackberry dumplings. He "says" he told us he was diabetic and that we were trying to kill him with meals and dessert all the time! Not true! He knew he was diabetic yet didn't tell us and it didn't keep him from eating, either!
:floorlaugh:

Speaking of fly-by's; Roger got to go up in a fighter jet this past week. They even did some "maneuvers" and Adrienne and my stomachs were rolling just hearing about it. He said he would do it again tomorrow if he could. They hit "G5"!
:couchhide: Not a chance, no way in h*** could you get me to do that or watch!
I hope that you get to see more of the birds at the feeder :)
Typos?? What are typos? hehehehe!

Tracy-- the LOs are wonderful! Look at all of that blue sky and water. I adore the Titanic pose!

What a night it was.... I was working on the computer in the office late last night (around 11:30 PM) when I hear a loud noise outside. I ignored it but within a couple of minutes I thought I hear a siren... looked out the window and was shocked to see about 6 fire engines and trucks filling the half cul-de-sac across the street with lights flashing and firemen running up the street toward a house. 2 more emergency vehicles were parked down near the other end of the block .... blocking the street!!! I couldn't see any fire from the house, but the firemen were hauling hoses around toward the back yard plus others were shining flashlights on the side of the garage. They were there for a long time... I checked off and on but they were still there a hour later when I finally went to bed.

3545 cropped.jpg at the other end of the street 3546 cropped.jpg
I will check with my friends who live next door to that house today to see if they know what happened. Thank heavens the winds were calm while this was going on!!!

I was woke up at 6:15AM but the cell phone chiming... so I didn't get much sleep ... 5 hours! I am sure I will need a nap today.
I had a wonderful supper last night. I blanched the pound of fresh asparagus (froze 2/3 of it). And had breaded shrimp with cocktail sauce, fresh tomato salad and the asparagus with melted butter and garlic.

Oh... the reason I was up so late on the computer... I was working on a layout. :floorlaugh: :yesss::floorlaugh: I had taken photos of rainbow over our neighborhood a couple of years ago. I had several of the left side of the rainbow and several of the right side of the rainbow. The rainbow was too large to get it all in one photo... so I blended 2 photos together to get a panorama of the whole thing. BTW... the cul de sac is just visible where the white car is on the right side, I took the photos standing on my driveway on the left. It is the first time I've ever stood under a rainbow!! Now I need to finish working on that layout.

Hope everyone has a good week.

Good Morning!
I'm another one who had a rough night of sleeplessness! So I'll probably end up with a headache later on.
I worked on the Web Inspiration Challenge #4 this morning! That was lots of fun! Got it posted!
Car is still in the shop! I only "NEED" that car when I don't have it! :rollingpin1:

Got the rest of the Freezer Meals (beef) done yesterday. Mark wanted a couple of the steaks to cook over the fire at the pits, so that cut my menus quite a bit. I think I still got 3 beef meals frozen. If I counted correctly, I made 28 meals out of the beef, pork and chicken I bought at COSTCO. And with the purchase of other ingredients (things I don't normally buy....like ginger paste) to go into the freezer bags, the cost per meal averages out to be less than $7! And they will take minimal effort to finish preparing! Plus, the next time I buy ingredients I won't have to buy ALL of the things I don't normally buy since I used very little of the rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, sriracha sauce.....you get the picture. I do want to cut up the peppers and onions and freeze those so they don't go to waste. I will freeze them in the quantities the recipes call for.....1/2 red pepper, 1/2 red onion, etc. That way I can just reach into the freezer instead of having to slice and dice! Mark asked me, "Is this another one of those projects of yours that is making you ask yourself, "What was I thinking?"" I told him no. Even though it was rough getting it all together, I think it will be very nice to just reach into the freezer and pull out a bag for supper without having to think about getting all of the ingredients together AFTER I have finally decided what to fix! We shall see!

I need to get some laundry done today. I didn't do any of that since I was working non-stop on the freezer meals this weekend. And I'm about a week behind on my daily scripture ATCs. It is what it is!

Have a great day!

Yeah, not super helpful to know this at 2 am.
Sounds like you, Kay and I had the same kind of night!
My funny feeder video of the day was of a squirrel that fell off of the feeder. I don't know if he literally fell off but he was there on the feeder one second and then disappeared with his arms flying out to the side.
HA! Maybe he is a flying squirrel!
Plans for today:
1. Get into a better mood.
2. Keep trying to achieve #1.
Hope your mood improves! Watch the birds! That always helps!
Think about all the times that Kay reaches into her freezer for a frozen dinner. Won't that feel awesome?
Yes! That's the main reason I wanted to try this! Great meals with minimal prep!
so I didn't get much sleep
You, Chris and I! Was there a full moon? ;)
photos of rainbow
That photo is wonderful! You did a great job of blending!

Good Morning! Quick hello as its tax day and we have to run kid to college. Brother who drives has day off so we have to take him today. Getting out and about takes me longer with compression pants. But starting to feel normal and loving not sleeping in compression.

Plans for today:
1. Get into a better mood.
2. Keep trying to achieve #1.
You can do it!!! Its St. Patty's day!!!! How can you be depressed??? Its all green and corned beef!!!!!
What in the world did your DS do to his foot that he couldn't even shower for 6 weeks!?!?
Did you follow home around the house with a can of Febreeze? :rotfl:
This was when he had total reconstruction on his foot from CMT surgery. It was extensive and they didn't want. it getting wet. We had to plastic bag, tape, and put a. seat in the shower so his foot could stay out. It was crazy but worth it.
I adore the Titanic pose!
:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh: That was so funny. I was trying to explain to hubs who probably had no real reference that it wasn't gonna work. We needed to be in the bow of the boat and the angle of photo would be wrong. Nope I did what he said. Not a titanic pose at all :floorlaugh:
I will check with my friends who live next door to that house today to see if they know what happened. Thank heavens the winds were calm while this was going on!!!
Oh my, how could you sleep not knowing what happened. I am glad it was a huge fire while the wind blew. That would have been super scary.
That way I can just reach into the freezer instead of having to slice and dice!
I love doing this! I do it with onions I. get at Costco. I send them through the food processor with the slicing blade, then I just pull a handful out, cut opposite direction and bag them. We usually buy two 10 lb bags of onions. So its a lot of slicing and I use the food processor to speed up the process. Sometimes I leave them in slices. Its such a time saver and they dont even need to thaw before you use them.

Well I have 5 minutes then gotta shower and start the compression marathon. Here's a photo of what they look like when I finally get them on :floorlaugh: They cover the foot/ankle and all the way to top of thigh. Then I have to try and get pants or a skirt on. over them to go in public. Much easier staying home and not worrying about clothes. PJ shorts and done is the best. The hardest part is my thumbs dont work normal and have no strength so that adds some fun to the process. Oh well, I went rambling on, sorry. Have a wonderful day!

Good Monday Morning everyone! It is a sunny but chilly morning here. Fresh snow again on the mountain tops and a bit of low lying fog around the lake, so very pretty!! We had a good time taking the In-Laws around the building that my DH works at, it was a very quiet Sunday so not many people in the building. We brought up our DD's scooter from the crawl space and took it for MIL to use so she wouldn't have to walk the whole building. (It is a huge property!). She was very thankful for it and we had a few laughs with her while she got her driving skills down pat with the scooter. She did very well and didn't run over anyone :giggle4:
Then we came back home and had a few glasses of wine and chatted away. I haven't seen SIL Linda for a while so it was good to catch up with her before she leaves on a trip to visit her 3 grandchildren in Edmonton. Her 70th birthday is at the end of the month so we will host a party for her when she gets back. This Friday my DH's workplace is putting on a retirement party for him at a local winery The Blue Grouse Estate Winery. It's a beautiful place and should be a lot of fun! I was up very early yesterday morning and got all of my Sunday chores done, so nothing in the way of housework to do today. Hopefully I will be inspired to get a challenge done today. Tomorrow I will have my SIL Veronica and her DD Nicole for supper and say goodbye to Nicci and wish her a safe journey back to LennoxHead NSW. Her mom is going to miss her so very, very much!! :waving2: I know that my SIL will keep herself busy during the days, but the nights will be so lonely for her!! :brokenheart:
Anyway on to a few personals...
How was everyone's weekend? I was cranky and stayed cranky. I gave myself permission to have a Pity Party Day yesterday. The plan was that today I'd wake up, get myself together, and have a better mindset.
I sure hope that you are in a much better mood by the end of today! Sorry that you had such a bad sleep, so I guess you are entitled to have yourself a little pity party!! At least you are getting educated while listening to podcasts as you toss and turn.
OMG Kay how concerning to see all that commotion going on down the street from you! I wonder if they had a gas explosion or something?? Hope you can find out what the heck happened from a neighbour! The photo of the rainbow is stunning Kay!! What a great job you did of blending the pictures together, such a lovely sight to see!!
Car is still in the shop! I only "NEED" that car when I don't have it! :rollingpin1:
Really?? I think I would have given up and traded it in for a new one by now. Sounds like you are very organized with your meal prep! What will the peppers be like after being frozen I wonder? I have never frozen them, so don't know. If they are ok then I might have to try that as I seem to always be throwing out left over peppers. Let me know please. Hope that you get the rest of your prep done and get a chance to get some scrapping done in between loads of :laundry:.
Well I have 5 minutes then gotta shower and start the compression marathon. Tracy those are quite the socks!! My thumbs give me grief sometime too, not sure why it might be from making fur teddy bears years ago and stuffing them was so very hard on my thumbs and fingers. Yes I would imagine that just staying home in your pj shorts is a lot less hassle for you! Hope that you will soon be able to out of the compression socks and living the good life again soon!
Happy Saint Patrick's day to all of you

Have a great day!

@AK_Tracy Wow those look difficult to put on because they are so big and go up so high. I had to wear them to knees and that was difficult to get on. Well good thing you are retired so you can skip the part of dressing up to go in public. It's still better than it was right? every day is better right. LOL your Titanic pose is hilarious...I did that one time on our boat I just wish I could find the photo, I'm sure I will find it sometime when I least expect it.

@BrightEyes - wow that looks like a scary night I hope no one was injured.

@vickyday Wow that sounds like a busy cook/prep day. Several people I know do that too. It sounds like an amazing thing to have easy food preps every night. I might have to try that sometime to see it that makes my life easier. I cannot believe the mechanic still has your car...there is probably some easy thing that he is missing. LOL It's true you only need it when you don't have it.

@faerywings I'm sorry you are being a grump-- You must be healing so that should make you feel more cheerful. I remember feeling that way after my hip replacement cause I was in pain and couldn't do what I wanted. then I looked around and saw people with permanent problems so mine were minimal....It made me feel better. I hope you can get out of your slump.

Well that is about it. I went to the backyard today to put the last of the bromilaids off the lawn so the when the lawn guys get here they wouldn't be in the way. I did housecleaning, lunch and cleanup. I need to help some ladies make the corned beef dinner at the club so I am leaving soon. 40 dinners so it will be a big day at the kitchen.

Have a good day all.

Oh, wow... had a real scare a few minutes ago. I was looking at my "Working Folder" - which was inside my Scrapping Folder. It is the folder that has all my 'new' collections and their LOs... or just the new collection that I need to make LOs for. My mouse slipped and suddenly the "Working Folder" disappeared!!! The bad part is none of the files in it had been copied onto the ExHD!!! :crying1::mad::rollingpin1::stupicpc::angry4: I looked in the recycle bin and it wasn't there!! Needless to say, my heart sank! I usually wait to move the files to the ExHD once I have uploaded them to the gallery, etc. Got up and walked around for a few minutes to calm down then did a search on the computer for "Working Folder" and it showed up... details said it was in Scrapping folder --- even though it didn't show when I looked there!!! Fortunately I could open open it in the details... so selected all 110 folders and moved them into Scraping Folder. Halleluiah... they were all there!!! Had to create a new "Working Folder" and move them into it!!! My heartrate is still way up there!!! Will give it a little time .... then will slowly and carefully copy all of them onto the ExHD and also copy them into my Scrapping File folder. I won't relax until I know they copied onto the ExHD okay. :thud:

And that's why I call them hooker wear :floorlaugh: They go all the way up the leg!!! The first couple days I didn't even wear shorts around the house. You see my undies oh well! But yes, each day is better and better. The hardest part is first thing in the morning. That first stretch to stand up is painful. But each day is still better and worth the pain.

Glad you laughed at the titanic photo! I couldn't stop laughing as hubs was taking it. Knowing it was not gonna look right but oh we had a blast anyway. Hope you find yours so we can see. I bet it turned out way better.

Taxes done. Whew that's over for a year. Now to sit around and wait for corned beef to finish and then mmmmmmmm will be dinner time.

Being on my feet all day on Saturday was a killer, but I fixed one of the meals tonight while Ilene and I played Qwirkle! All I had to do was put some mixed veggies from the freezer on to cook while the pork chops cooked in the oven! Perfect! I think I'm going to like this new freedom!
That poor mechanic! I feel for him!
