The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Good morning, my lOves!
I have good news to share—I already got my mammo results and they're all clear! I don't have to go back for another year. dance3

Part of me was musing that maybe I can stretch it out to 2 years between scans but that probably isn't the smartest idea. I used the "what advice would I give to Caitlyn" metric and it failed that test. I commented (as always) to the tech that I do not understand with all of the new technology that no one has been able to come up with a better way. She was probably a few years older than me and said that she has been doing these for a long time. When she started out, she never thought it would be almost the same process all these years later. Sure, the digital part makes it easier to read but the mechanics-- *awful.*

Yes, I know I am preaching to the choir, ladies but Gary doesn't understand the same way you do.

Before I left home, I looked for a CVS that does vaccines and there was one a couple of miles up the highway so I stopped in and got the pneumonia vax. My arm is slightly sore if I poke at it. (Faery, stop poking at your arm- DUH! LOL). It didn't even bother me sleeping on it. It's a one-and-done and I asked her if there were any other vaccines she would suggest and I am all good. I'm not "old enough" for RSV and the only one I am missing is TDap but I react badly to tetanus so that is an "only if necessary" one.
As long as I was traveling on the highway, I stopped at BJs to get new water bottles, I like the brand that has the one-handed release which is easier to use for driving. My Yeti is too big and too heavy for in the car and I get grossed out by water bottles with straws. I feel like I never can get them clean enough even if I scrub them.

My plans for the afternoon were to scrap and scrap and scrap. But I couldn't. My computer, ACDSee, and PS were not playing nicely with each other. In fact, they were practically brawling. I ran C Cleaner, rebooted -- no better. I backed up and then Optimized my ACDsee database. Slightly better. I have an old version of ACDSee and an ancient version of PS and I dread the day when -- Well. I am not going to even say it. :censored:

We were supposed to go over to Scott's today to visit with him and the kiddos but their dad is going to be spending the day with them. Booo. But Scott told us to come over anyway if we wanted. I am excited to check out his birdfeeders. :floorlaugh:

Maybe all of my computer gremlins are tormenting someone else today, although not any of you. Tom is cooking dinner tonight so I should have lots of time this afternoon.

Sending all of you big hugs today!

Good morning to all. Chris, I'm so happy that your mammo was A-ok, that's always good news. That's a really smart ruler to use, what would you tell your daughter - very smart, I'll bet you get yourself every time! Funny, I got my email reminder today.
And I'm glad you were able to get the vaccine and especially that there's not much reaction today.

I find I drink more with water bottles with straws, much much more. But, like you they can make me feel yuck if not cleaned well. Do you have a straw brush? I bought a set on Amazon - something like 8 different sizes. The largest fits in the bottle straw, I rinse it with hot water and sometimes soak, but for sure I squirt some detergent in and brush, brush brush and clean it it all out - makes me feel better!
You might already know all this, but thought I'd mention it. I've used those different brushes a lot.

@MariJ I hear you about how the temps are so relative to what you are used to. It was in the low 30s up here but I parked my car in every lot as far as I could to get some extra steps and fresh air. I would have been bundled head to toe if this was in October or any day where we had spent a month in single digits.
I am with you--I hate the cold. :protest:

@LaurieW The mammo is a necessary evil, right? Especially since you have family history. My closest relative that I know of was my great aunt. Gary offered to go with me and that was sweet but unnecessary. He should know that my tantrums and mutterings don't actually mean anything by now. Hehe. He probably does know and that is why he offered, he was confident I wasn't going to take him up on it.
Sorry that you are still dealing with the cat house. *fingers crossed it sells quickly*
How wonderful to spend time with your G-DD! I loved those days and have a ton of pics of the kids sitting on Pampers boxes. I can only imagine what you could build with Amazon boxes!
Have you picked out the 12 garments yet? What a fun goal!

I will keep him busy with lots of projects to get done around the house and hopefully we can start planning for some vacations! Perhaps some more frequent trips out East to see the kids and grands too.
If that isn't what retirement should be all about, then what would it?
It has to be a mess of emotions for you trying to move forward and then have your loss hit you terribly again and again. Hugs ♥

:giggle4: :giggle4: So dramatic. And so relatable!! Glad you were able to delay the complaining of the mamo. Hope it went well.
I am very dramatic and I spent 99% of my day muttering under my breath. About something, anything, everything. And yes, I am being dramatic right now too. :lol23:
Did the temps stay cold for you or did everything melt again?
Our great reward for not going postal when the kids were teens.
This is so unfair! I didn't go postal on my kids and I had *plenty* of reason. PLEN-TYYYY. And yet, no grands in my future. Where is my prize???

:rotfl:

got a big delivery of brooches today and can't wait to get my hanging jewelry storage bag in the next week or so. I have the jewelry boxes full and don't want to clutter with multiples laying on each other so the hanging storage is necessary and it will be so easy to view them. Each side holds 40 brooches and won't take up much room in the closet.
This is so exciting!
Which one are you going to wear today when you go into Calgary?

I always dread those things, too! I hope nothing "pressing" comes of it! ;). Pun totally intended, LOL!
:coffeescreen:
50* sounds amazing! I hope you opened the windows to let the fresh air in (JK, it is warm but not that warm)
Yikes!! What a busy day of errands! Please tell me you slept well after all of that!
Were you able to get most of your family to come in this weekend? I know one DS couldn't (and one other?) but I hope the rest are.
It is an Air Force Base and no cute Airman/soldiers work in the commissary....all civilian workers But there was a very nice male bagger today who bagged the groceries and took them to my car. BTW, we have to pay/tip the baggers if we want their help. Well worth it to have them doing the bagging and lifting!!! Good thing as the back stiffness had moved into my hips so I was limping around.
Welp, that is a bummer Bwuhahah! Is tipping the baggers commonplace in NM or is it a Commissary thing? Either way, it is money well spent when you're in pain. I have been trying to convince my mom to pay for the valet parking at the hospital where all of her cardiologist /kidney appts are. The complex is huge and she doesn't use elevators. So pay the darn $20 and not struggle. SMH!
I hope that the massager helped the hip pain.

@Cherylndesigns You have been so sick for almost the entire month and what a long month it has been. So happy that you are finally feeling more like yourself.
You're 2 LOs in one day is still better than I did. *G* I am hoping that your mojo flies back in the window to you today.

Belle had great weather driving home the other day. She said when she left Michigan it was -8 degrees! She hit one piece of black ice but it was sunny beautiful the whole way home. Belle has worked three days now, and she's all smiles. :dancingbfly:
Wonderful news all around!!! Not the -8* - that goes without saying- but the rest of it is wonderful!
haha- it's an open secret that me and my kids did not like each other much when they were in their early teens. There were a lot of extenuating circumstances -- we were all very sick with Lyme- but it was not an easy time for any of us. It definitely made us much closer in the long run, however. A silver lining in a crummy situation.
hahaha!!! How did anyone even discover the process of a mammogram?
For real!!! :rotfl:

yes, I get myself every time. I learned that trick when I used it on my mom. What would she say to Caitlyn? Nothing like Motherly Guilt Trips. ha!
I have bottle brushes and I think it is psychological. I can't think about the water bladder in my backpack being one large straw or I'd never drink anything on a hike!
Yup, I have some weird quirks. Straws and buttons-- ewwwww

HAGD!

Good morning,
After running around all day yesterday I thought for sure I would sleep like a baby! Not so much! But I m pretty sure I will tonight!
I'm planning to go to Ilene's this morning. We will go to lunch and then I want to try to fix her house phone. When you need to leave a message it says the mailbox is full. But when you check the hand held unit it says no messages!
I also need to go to Ruby Tuesday and speak with the manager about the family gathering there Saturday afternoon. There will be at least 16 of us. More if boyfriends and girlfriends come!
Later today we're going to my grandson's varsity basketball game as the seniors are going to be recognized. So I won't get much done around here today.
Have a good day!

my mammo results and they're all clear!
Hip, Hip, Hooray!
Yes, I know I am preaching to the choir, ladies but Gary doesn't understand the same way you do.
If they had to mash a man's manly parts, they would understand! And the process for mammos would probably change, too! ;)
Maybe all of my computer gremlins are tormenting someone else today, although not any of you
I hope none of us.....or you!
Tom is cooking dinner tonight so I should have lots of time this afternoon.
YAY!
I hope you opened the windows to let the fresh air in
I wasn't home long enough yesterday to open any windows! It was nice being out without all of the outerwear garbage! I wore a sweatshirt and a scarf!
Please tell me you slept well after all of that!
ummm.....wish I could! For the 4 hours I slept, I guess it was OK, however! Took me forever to get to sleep and then woke up super early.....5ish.
I know one DS couldn't (and one other?) but I hope the rest are.
The youngest, who set the date for us to meet (because Walmart won't give him holidays off), is the only one not going to make it. I hate it!

Quick in and out this morning... off to get the free car wash and checkup. Forecast has changed... not as much snow.. maybe flurries tonight and maybe some tomorrow. That is good and bad news. We need the snow as we are in a drought but hate when the roads are snowy and icy. Have a couple of errands to do while I am out.

@faerywings The tipping of baggers is only at the base commissary. In the past, there was always baggers but that changed a couple of months ago. Now the baggers only work if you need them and their only pay is the tips they are given. And the commissary is encouraging us to bring our own bags - which I have been doing. I have 2 large zippered insulated bags plus 8 medium bags but need a few more. And I tell the baggers to not over-load the bags so I can manage unloading them when I get home. I only go to the commissary every 6 -8 weeks so usually stock up when I go. I have a wheeled cart at the house that I use to take the bags from the garage into the kitchen. And the freezer is in the garage - so only a few steps with the heavier insulated bags.

Got the FWP LO scrapped and uploaded last evening. And have a pre-release kit waiting for me to work on. Depends on how the hip and back hold up to my errands as to when I work on it. Be back later for personals.

Good morning ladies. Relaxed with coffee and online shopping. Then moved on to cleaning up my jewelry supplies (from last night's designing) b/c I don't want to leave beads/supplies laying around in case the dogs happen to get into it. I'm heading into Calgary in a few minutes to get the rainboots I found on marketplace. I'll take Remi and we'll stop at the dog park. Then back home for lunch and then head out for the afternoon for euchre at the club.

@faerywings I have fun deciding which rings, necklaces and brooches to wear daily. I've got a metallic butterfly on my lapel and I think I'll add a bird to it too. I can't wait to get my jewelry with flowers, birds, trees, etc.

Have to cut this short. Have to go. BFN

Good Morning everyone! Another sunny but cold morning here. The heat pump is having a hard time keeping up with this chilly weather! We have been bringing in the hummingbird feeder after dinner every night and DH puts it out in the morning before he heads to work. It's nice and warm for the little birds! What will they do when he retires?? They will be waiting for him to get out of bed and do his job :giggle4: , but he still might be getting up at 5:30 am for awhile until his body clock adjusts to not working. SIL Linda and I are going for a long walk today and possibly we will go for lunch somewhere. It will be good to be out in the fresh crisp air and sunshine. Still not sure if I will venture out to our hike tomorrow, its quite a drive and I have done this hike so many times, I think I will sit this one out. Not much else happening around here, I should get the vacuum out and wash the kitchen floor, that is one job that did not get done on the weekend. I totally forgot to do it. I made my DH's birthday card yesterday with Vicki Robinson's Focus words, it was fun to do and it was good to be back in my craft room again making a big mess LOL.

I have good news to share—I already got my mammo results and they're all clear! I don't have to go back for another year. dance3
Great news about your Mammo results Hooray!! Glad you were able to get your pneumonia shot as well and yes please, stop poking your arm :giggle4:.
I find I drink more with water bottles with straws, much much more. But, like you they can make me feel yuck if not cleaned well. Do you have a straw brush?
I drink a lot of water all day long, but don't like using the bottles with the straws, mine has a pop up lid and is insulated so it keeps my water nice and cold. I think I am too lazy to be bothered to scrub the straws all the time lol.
Sorry you did not sleep well after your busy day yesterday! I find that happens to me a lot after hiking all day, you would think I would be worn out, but I guess the mind is still awake and raring to go. Hopefully tonight will be a better sleep! Say hi to Ilene from all of us today, hope you get the mailbox thing figured out!
Off you go again running some more errands, you are such a busy lady!! Glad to hear that you will not be getting too much snow and we are in the same boat. We sure need some snow, but we haven't had any real precipitation for over a month now. Scary!!
I thought I'd report in and let you know that I'm FINALLY feeling "like a human again". UGH it's been a LONG time - I started getting this on about Jan 3rd and ended up with walking pneumonia. I honestly didn't know how sick I have been until I started feeling "normal" again. There IS light at the end of the tunnel.
So happy to hear that you are starting feel like a human being again!! My goodness you certainly have been very sick! Sending you lots of love and virtual chicken soup!! Please take care of you!!

Its finally NOT 38 degrees!!! We got a dusting of snow, just enough that you cant see the ice. But the winds have picked up so I am sure it will all melt into beautiful ice soon.
I think that you and I are going to be hit with winter in February this year!! Our forecast is for snow and cold starting on Thursday, we sure need it and hopefully you will get your winter soon also!!
I'm heading into Calgary in a few minutes to get the rainboots I found on marketplace. I'll take Remi and we'll stop at the dog park. Then back home for lunch and then head out for the afternoon for euchre at the club.
How far of a drive is it for you to get to Calgary Rae?? Sounds like you are really enjoying your jewellery making!! I bet your brooches and bling are all stunning! Enjoy your afternoon of euchre!!

Well I need some more coffee, then I better get dressed in layers for our walk this morning. Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! Stay warm and dry!! :waving3:

Good mOrning!!!

I already got my mammo results and they're all clear! I don't have to go back for another year.
Wonderful news!!!! I bet you are so relieved. So thankful they get results to us faster now, no waiting. :girldance:
This is so unfair! I didn't go postal on my kids and I had *plenty* of reason. PLEN-TYYYY. And yet, no grands in my future. Where is my prize???
Well, you have a close, wonderful relationship with your kids. That's an awesome reward. I had to wait for grands for that. And who knows, maybe they'll change their minds in the future. :heartpumppink:
50* sounds amazing! I hope you opened the windows to let the fresh air in (JK, it is warm but not that warm)
HEHE I almost mentioned the other day when it was 38 that the windows were open and the fresh air amazing. I didn't want to scare you or make you think I was crazy. Or confirm what you already knew :floorlaugh:
Yup, I have some weird quirks. Straws and buttons-- ewwwww
This cracked me up. That's how I feel about flowers and winter. I should say, flowers and snow. I know some places dont get snow and they have flowers but ugh flowers dont belong with snow. Just ask @MariJ I've been saying this for the whole two years she's known me :giggle4: Its actually stopped me buying kits before if the flowers outweigh the snow aspect.

How fun that you get a clean car!!! Mine is so dirty after this last month of warmer temps and rain. But there is NO way we would ever wash the car in winter. Dont need it frozen shut.

Off to get more coffee!

I think that you and I are going to be hit with winter in February this year!! Our forecast is for snow and cold starting on Thursday, we sure need it and hopefully you will get your winter soon also!!
Yes, that is my fear. That it will come in February. I will be gone most of February and I worry that my poor family will have to shovel out while I am gone. They could plow but the truck is being goofy this year and I worry it wont start for them. Worse I think would be if it all hit in March, which we've had some doozy years where March gets 2-3'.

Hope the hummingbirds get the retired memo and aren't too demanding waiting for their warm feeders. :giggle4: But youre rights, he will still get up at that hour for a bit. But the lack of rushing out of the house will be adjusted to quickly.

Yay! I did get her mailbox figured out but I had to make a phone call to get it started. She wrote down the instructions of how to retrieve them. Apparently her carrier changed and she needed to get the new voice mailbox set up so she could access it.

@AK_Tracy said----This cracked me up. That's how I feel about flowers and winter. I should say, flowers and snow. I get tired of the flowers with everything...boy theme too...sorry, but no. @MariJ and I have had this discussion many times also.

Ok. My friends surprise party was a huge success...ended up with 20 people, she was totally surprise---excellent food, drinks with wonderful friends so we had so much fun. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful group of friends.

Today we are having our drain line that goes under the slab jetted to get all the old crud out because our laundry and kitchen drains have been so slow. He started at 9 and at 1 he is still working on it....these old houses!!!
I made a simple macrame hanger for a plant and will make a few more so I can hang a few more plants in the trees. That will make room for more decorative pots and plants in the garden.

I changed out the system for holding the milkweed leaves in my monarch habitat. I got coffee can so put holes in the top so stems go into water but the top won't let the babies fall in. My granddaughter and I collected 30 from my outdoor milkweeds which are already eaten so I need to walk to my friends house -(4 houses away) every morning to gather leaves from her giant milkweed plants to feed all the caterpillars. It is a fun and rewarding hobby.

I committed to teach basket weaving to some ladies at the club starting in Feburary...I will work around my PT but there are so many people who want to learn that I a just going for it.

Tens machine has helped me so much...my hip is so much better and my back is slowly getting more comfortable so I am loving it. Thank you to my dear daughter.

Trying to scrap but it's warming up and outside is calling.

Hubby talked to a guy yesterday who said there is no date set for putting our new electric cable in...are you kidding me? since November 13 so that cable is still there across my patio.. Call before you dig....They have marked our yard for the underground utilities and irrigation we have 67 flags and our neighbors have a bunch too...so we are ready come put the cable in. I get nervous everytime I go out there, I'm afraid to trip again.

Well everyone have a good day and evening.

@AK_Tracy I guess the snow didn't get the memo...you retired not the plow truck. You know it will snow when you are not there...it's murphys law.

@Cherylndesigns I'm glad you are feeling better...i'ts so horrible when sickness lingers on.

@faerywings and all the OLadies We all hate mammograms but they really do save us so squish away.

I was lucky I had a great relationship with our children and still do. I feel bad for those of you who had gone through rough times. I miss them so much so make quality time when we see them..

Feeling a bit better - got a good night's sleep. I started on the couch and went into my bed during the night.

Hey Chris @faerywings the computer gremlins struck me! It started last night, and I thought it was my laptop. My big monitor that I work from has apparently died a premature death. Thankfully it was the hundred dollar plus and NOT my very expensive laptop.

Here's me - after working on a huge screen, now trying to see on my laptop.

confused-mature-man-who-has-poor-eyesight-works-laptop-home-wearing-glasses-problems-elderly-l...jpg

It's brutal and I didn't realize what a difference it made. I must get a new monitor hopefully TODAY. Hopefully I feel like a bat right now, trying to see.

My thoughts on the mammogram: I call them "MAN ograms because a man had to invent it.

Thanks for all of your get well wishes, I think they're working.

I get tired of the flowers with everything...boy theme too...sorry, but no. @MariJ and I have had this discussion many times also.
Exactly! AMEN!!! I love flowers but only outside. Mostly the reason we have flowers is for the bees. Otherwise, yeah, I'm good. I've been tempted but haven't yet to see just how many flowers I have that sit idle in my folders. I'm sure its the most full folder of all of them. It gets frustrating.
I need to walk to my friends house -(4 houses away) every morning to gather leaves from her giant milkweed plants to feed all the caterpillars. It is a fun and rewarding hobby.
I love this and that you get such joy from them. I love the layouts you have done with them.

Exactly!!!! Hopefully the parts arrive before I leave so we can get it fixed. I would hate for them to have to snowblow the drive.

:floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: That's so funny!!!! I only scrap on a laptop. Two screens is so crazy to me, never had them.Wouldn't know what to do. Hope youre able to find some monitors that work for what you want and at a good price.

It was a long weekend here, so we went camping with some friends. Three blissful days off-grid! Even the teenagers had fun disconnecting from devices and just playing old school games and talking. Came home late Monday aftenoon and walked straight into a heatwave. Ugh! Spent most of yesterday melting away under the aircon trying to find the energy to be productive, but only managed a few loads of laundry. At least the ridiculously hot sun meant the laundry dried quickly on the line!
It's the last week of school holidays, so I need to work some magic to get the teenager to flip days and nights. Right now she's sleeping until noon and baking cookies at 1am. Any tips?

It's a little getting used to, Tracy, but think about working on your layouts on a big screen as opposed to the laptop screen. It took me about 5 minutes to adjust to it. I used the keys on my laptop, but everything transgers over to the big monitor. I JUST found one exactly like mine at Walmart and it's in the store!! We can pick it up tonight!!

No tips, just learn old school, the hard way. :giggle4: If she's a typical teen she wont listen to you anyway. Sometimes setting an alarm for 9 a.m. on the weekends helps the 6 a.m. Monday not feel so horrible.

Part of my problem would be then I would have to be in the office in a chair. On my laptop I can sit with my feet up. Its all about comfort :floorlaugh: Feet up, blanket across my legs, wine or coffee next to me, laptop, not moving until I have to.

Yes, you're pretty much stuck in the office. However, you can switch the devide you view on back to your laptop, unplug the monitor and then you can go sit on the couch with your laptop. Here's a visual of the size of my monitor next to my laptop. I know some people even have two monitors, but I only have room for one. I thought I'd get a bigger one, but this size is perfect for my desk.

Got most of the errands ran... to the dealership - and BOY!!! My car looks GREAT!!! All nice clean and shiny - even the floor mats were vacuumed and the outside was dried off... no water-drops anywhere on it. I watched the guy wipe it down good. I don't mind getting it washed in the winter as I park it in the garage all the time. Then to Sam's Club to grab some coffee and buns. And over to Walmart to return an item and pick up a few things. I couldn't believe it... I found some Vit E Cream by Fruit of the Earth!!! I used to swear by that brand of lotion but it disappeared shortly after Covid struck. The Vit E cream I use is no longer being made and I am almost out so this was a happy find. Picked up the mail on the way home and the registration and sticker came in. Need to it applied ASAP before the temps drop and are cold for the rest of the week. Then grabbed the books and took them back to the local library and checked out 5 more. That should do me for a few days... :rotfl: :floorlaugh:dance4 The wind was starting to pick up just as I came out of the library so think that is the edge of the storm. I am more than ready to kick-back in the recliner and veg for awhile.

I do need to repackage the meat (I bought yesterday) for the freezer. Being lazy for supper... making hamburger and sweet potato fries. I am thinking about making a big pot of enchilada sauce tomorrow. Sounds great for a cold winter day.

Thats crazy bigger. I can see how that would be nicer to see and work on.

You know I am SOOooo with you! "There are no flowers in snow, there are no flowers in snow" that is my mantra. :D I do same as you, if I see flowers in a snow collection, Noooooo.. And actually if I see mainly flowers in any collection I don't look at it! You are so right my friend.... And, gosh Tracy it does seem like way more than two years I've known you, wow! :heartpumppink:

I get tired of the flowers with everything...boy theme too...sorry, but no. @MariJ and I have had this discussion many times also.
Yes, yes YES! Debby! I need a bit of diversity, all flowers all the time make NO sense to me, for sure we've discussed that!
