Good morning, O-zies!
*grabs a mug of coffee and plops into my chair*
:coffeedrinker:

How was your weekend? It was quiet over here, and I think I was able to get mostly prepped for the week ahead. There were a few wrinkles in my plans but I think I have most of them sorted out.
I didn't get any time to scrap, my creativity is just ....blaaaaahhhhhh....

I have to post this and get in the shower. My mammogram is this morning and it's the usual 40 minutes away. I feel like a 2 yo -- I don' wanna goooo
*stomps foot and pouts*
I'm sort of proud of myself, I didn't start mumbling about it until yesterday afternoon, less than 24 before the appt. Usually, I start at least two days before. That's a decent improvement. Man, you would think they were cutting off a limb or something the way I complain :angry3:
If I can get the pneumonia vax on my way home, I'll do that today too. (Find a t-shirt to wear under the layers of sweaters!)

HAGD!! I'll try to come back later for personals ♥

Good morning all and good luck with your Mammo Chris. Yay for the mumbling delay! dance4
I'm back in NJ now, arrived later Saturday afternoon and for the first time NJ was colder than Indiana, WHAT? I really was beginning to believe it was me, but it evened out yesterday, whew. It was "nice" enough yesterday for my friend and little one to go outside and she could walk around in the snow and not get frostbite! How is it getting to 20º now feels warm; 30's felt like the tropics? Any other time I'd be freezing!
I do dislike the cold..... And that's putting it mildly... :cold:

I like the way you describe the obsessing club, Chris. So true! @faerywings :heartpumppink:
It's a crummy club but we have great company! Just about everyone I know is this way. Some are a little more obsessive than others (me, my mom, my BFF, my DD. heh)

Morning O fam!
Chris @faerywings - best of luck with your mammo- I had one last month with dex scan and X-ray in the same day. Given both mother and one sister had breast cancer, I just do it. My sister is still living many years later, and my mother died of complications of a stroke. I have been MIA due to cleaning the "cat" house. It is back on the market and has one offer, although many came to the open houses this past weekend. We also had the pleasure of having our grand daughter for the weekend. Love to let her play/lead creativity. So much fun coloring letters printed on a cardboard box that her new car seat came it. This will be new scrapping material. I also have started back up with sewing and plan to sew 12 garments this year. I am nearly finished with the classic tee that I cut out ummm- 2 years ago. I guess I should get going with my weekly homeblessing so I can get creative!

Welcome back to NJ!! The state feels better with you in it already :D

I have 5 minutes before I need to leave so quick personals and ignore typos (as usual please LOL)

@Nonni F did you actially getto 40*!? :wow: Not here!
I am 100% with you, can't *wait* to get out in the gardens again

@Vicky Hope you had a nice time at church and then pizza afterward

@BoatLady I will be looking at that TENS machine when I get home,TFS!! I bet you had a wonderful dinner with your friend

@BrightEyes Go nice and easy at the commissary today, what if you bat your eyelashes at a cute soldier, will they help you get stuff into your car?? :devil2:

Ok, my loves,. time to get the car warming up! xo

Morning everyone, it must be Monday as the house is quiet and DH is back to work. Guess I won't be able to say that for much longer as the end of March will be here before I know it! :eek2:. Just kidding, I think we will have some great times together! I will keep him busy with lots of projects to get done around the house and hopefully we can start planning for some vacations! Perhaps some more frequent trips out East to see the kids and grands too. We had a nice afternoon with the In-Laws yesterday and I made them supper of stuffed chicken breasts and Caesar Salad, they were very happy to be waited on!! SIL Linda was also there, she has been keeping very busy with her Curling Club, but is lonely now that her and Mark are no longer a couple, things just were not working out for the two of them. DH and I spent far too much at Costco, but we got everything that we needed and the freezer is full again. I got all the housework done, so its nice to have everything sparkling clean and not have much to do during the week. I hope I can get my mojo back and get into my craft room to do some creative things! I have hardly stepped in there since we got back from Ottawa. It's been hard to be happy in there since hearing the news about my brother! :sad2:. Anyway the sun is shining, but it is frosty out there. I hope it warms up a bit so I can get out for a nice long walk today!

I have to post this and get in the shower. My mammogram is this morning and it's the usual 40 minutes away. I feel like a 2 yo -- I don' wanna goooo

Best of luck with your Mammo and good plan to get your pneumonia shot on your way home! Hope that both go well for you! I feel the same way about getting a Mammo, I don't like it!!!

Sorry you are still in the cold!! Hopefully the temps will get better for you soon! I don't mind the cold up to a certain temp, but when it hits minus 20 I refuse to go outside! Thankfully we have not had temps like that here on the Island ever, but sure had lots of freezing days in Saskatchewan when we lived there. I do not miss it!!! I would much rather be on the beach somewhere warm!! :hammock:.

Gosh you are still cleaning that "cat" house!! Sure hope it sells soon for you! How nice to have your grand daughter for a weekend visit! I look forward to seeing your page about the cardboard box coloring!! Good for you for taking up sewing, that is one thing that I could never do, although I tried a few times.

Well I better hop in the shower and get on with the day, I need to open up the craft room and get some warm air flowing into there, wish me luck that my mojo is hiding somewhere in there and I find it today! Have a great Monday everyone! :waving3:

Good Morning!

Its finally NOT 38 degrees!!! We got a dusting of snow, just enough that you cant see the ice. But the winds have picked up so I am sure it will all melt into beautiful ice soon.

*grabs a mug of coffee and plops into my chair*
:coffeedrinker:
:giggle4: :giggle4: So dramatic. And so relatable!! Glad you were able to delay the complaining of the mamo. Hope it went well.

This is so funny. Not haha but yeah irony. Knowing how much you dislike cold and winter and it keeps following you. Its like the relentless toddler saying hey you cant ignore me, look how pretty I am. :giggle4: Glad you made it safe and sound.
We also had the pleasure of having our grand daughter for the weekend.
Isn't that the best? Grands make the world fun. Our great reward for not going postal when the kids were teens.

@BrightEyes be safe today! Dont over do it!!

@Cherylndesigns Hope youre doing. well and your cold is better. :heartpumppink::hug2::heartpumppink:

Good morning ladies. I've had a lazy morning, enjoying coffee and family time. I got a new thermal hot brush yesterday but this morning I decided to give it to Jen. She is thrilled, her's is very old. I am going to keep the one I have which is perfectly fine and then later may buy a heating wand instead.

I got a big delivery of brooches today and can't wait to get my hanging jewelry storage bag in the next week or so. I have the jewelry boxes full and don't want to clutter with multiples laying on each other so the hanging storage is necessary and it will be so easy to view them. Each side holds 40 brooches and won't take up much room in the closet.

I'm popping into Calgary tomorrow before afternoon cards at the center. On marketplace I found Sorrel thick soled rainboots, basically new, they are too big for the girl, she is a 7 and I am a 7-7.5 so they will be perfect for my walks at the park when I don't need hiking boots. The best thing is the price which is 1/3 of the sale price listed on the Sorel website right now. woohoo. I have a few Sorels and love them.

The weather is in the 40's this week so will enjoy that before the minus temps come back next week. I will be busy making a chain/bead bracelet for a friend's birthday. We'll all be going out for dinner with her on Wed night.

I hope to get a bit of CT scrapping done later today too. My day at home seems to be filling up with lots to do :)

@faerywings I don't think anyone likes mammos, we all hate them.

HAGD everyone.

Maybe since our temps are supposed to be warmer this week (it was low 50s today) that means you will have the cold you are supposed to have!

You find the best deals on marketplace, Rae! Good for you!!! :heartpumpred:

I'm really late to the party today! I have been going non-stop all day!
Up at 7:30
Fixed coffee, mailed some letters, dressed and out the door by 8:30
Stopped by the bank to make church deposit.....not open til 9
Went to the church to check the mail and hang a thank-you note on the bulletin board.
Stopped by the bank again.
Went to Kohl's to pick up a dirty Santa gift for this weekend when the kids come for our rescheduled Christmas gathering.
Went to Walmart to pick up paper items for the church and items needed for the pretzel salad I will be making for our gathering.
Took the groceries home.
Picked Mark up for lunch.
Went to the grocery after I dropped Mark back at work to get the pineapple Walmart did not have.
Took the paper items to the church.
Stopped at the PO Box.
Back home to drop the pineapple off.
Went to Ilene's to set up her voicemail on her new phone and stayed for an hour or so talking and making sure she could get her voicemail.
Back home in time to feed Asher at 3:30.
Mark came home at 3:45 and we did our devotions.
Now Mark is in the woods and I am ready to settle down to do a bit of church paperwork and some more redownloads! One more year to go!
I think I should sleep pretty well tonight! ;)
Have a good evening!

Busy, busy, busy... finally back home from the trip to the base. I was running late as I had to get a shower and blow-dry the hair... it was looking like I stuck my finger in an electric socket!!! So it was after 10AM before I got to the Base Pharmacy. Luckily only 1 person in line before me so it was a quick Rx pickup then over to the gas station for a fill up. It was a good day at the commissary as it wasn't crowded at all.
@BrightEyes Go nice and easy at the commissary today, what if you bat your eyelashes at a cute soldier, will they help you get stuff into your car?? :devil2:
It is an Air Force Base and no cute Airman/soldiers work in the commissary....all civilian workers But there was a very nice male bagger today who bagged the groceries and took them to my car. BTW, we have to pay/tip the baggers if we want their help. Well worth it to have them doing the bagging and lifting!!! Good thing as the back stiffness had moved into my hips so I was limping around. But the temp go up to 55*F and I ended up turning the AC in the car on for over half the trip home. With the back/hips aching... I tossed the meat in the fridge - it can wait until tomorrow before I separate and bag them.

I had a nice surprise... got an email from my dealership that yesterday was my Sonata's birthday (2 years old) and I could have a free car wash and mini-points check-up! Wow... So made an appointment for tomorrow morning to have it done. Should only take about an hour and I will take a book to read while I wait. The car is needing a wash so this was perfect timing. The bad weather is not suppose to hit until mid-to-late afternoon so should be done and home before it starts.

Got to go fix a hot drink, grab a book, sit in the recliner and turn the massager on!!! The back is really talking to me now.

Good evening my dear friends,

I thought I'd report in and let you know that I'm FINALLY feeling "like a human again". UGH it's been a LONG time - I started getting this on about Jan 3rd and ended up with walking pneumonia. I honestly didn't know how sick I have been until I started feeling "normal" again. There IS light at the end of the tunnel.

I know I keep saying this, but I haven't been this sick for so many years. I created 2 new layouts for CP and it took about ALL I had to create them. Along with my sickies, my creativity has flown right straight out the window. I'm sure it will return, but DANG it was really an effort for me to do something creative.

I guess this is a good thing, but I have returned to sleeping in my bed in the last few nights. I've been sleeping and pretty much living on my couch, under my favorite fuzzy blanket ever since I got sick. My couch and cozy sherpa blanket have become my BFF's. My dog and cat have loved the fact that I'm on the couch because they have been keeping watch over me.

Anyway, thanks for the get well wishes - I have loved them all. XOXO

Maybe since our temps are supposed to be warmer this week (it was low 50s today) that means you will have the cold you are supposed to have!
One can hope, but not too cold as we dont have a snow layer to insulate the ground and the last thing we want is frozen pipes. But if winter were to show up I wouldn't mind.

I'm so glad youre mending!!! Dont over do it and set yourself back. That would be bad. Glad the animals are there watching over you, as I am sure lot of family is too.

See-- this is one more reason why I adore this group-- I learn so incredibly much from all of you, things that I use daily in my life. I appreciate that more than you know ♥
All the friendships made and all the little things we learn from each make this place O so Special!
Did Belle have any trouble driving in the bad weather? She started the job on Thursday, IIRC? How does she like it so far??
Belle had great weather driving home the other day. She said when she left Michigan it was -8 degrees! She hit one piece of black ice but it was sunny beautiful the whole way home. Belle has worked three days now, and she's all smiles. :dancingbfly:
I'm back in NJ now,
Welcome home!! Too bad the cold is following you, but I bet it feels good to be home and see your "adopted" family!
Our great reward for not going postal when the kids were teens.
:floorlaugh: I laughed out loud when I saw this!! One of my darling daughters told me recently that she didn't like me much when she was a teenager, but that she thinks I'm pretty cool now. I refrained from saying Back at ya! But I thought it!!
I always dread those things, too! I hope nothing "pressing" comes of it! ;). Pun totally intended, LOL!
hahaha!!! How did anyone even discover the process of a mammogram?
I'm FINALLY feeling "like a human again".
Just like Tracy said, don't over do it!! You might feel like doing stuff, but pace yourself as you get back to normal!
My dog and cat have loved the fact that I'm on the couch because they have been keeping watch over me.
How sweet is that! Doggies and kitties are the best anytime, but especially when they're watching over you!

Oh my goodness, those temps are beyond cold! I really can't complain about the "cold" here when I hear that. Yesterday we were up above freezing, it's amazing how warm that feels......... I am with you, I am so a beach girl but here I have to wait for summer for that. And, I don't mind HOT.

Welcome home!! Too bad the cold is following you, but I bet it feels good to be home and see your "adopted" family!
Thank you Amy and yes! Julianne and I --- all of us, are right back to normal! Her little cousin will be one tomorrow and in about 6 weeks, Julianne turns 2, just amazing. :beatingheart:

Thank you and you are right Tracy! But, I was so relieved yesterday morning my sister sent a photo of her thermometer at 14º, we were 22º, yay! At least the "coldest" didn't follow me home. (SHhhhhhhhhhhh) :heartpumppink:

Glad you are feeling better! My family here has been sick with dragging illness most of January also. The young mom ended up with Pneumonia and is still couging. I'm happy to hear that you are on the right side of healing and normal, take care and don't overdo! :heartpumppink:

I was dreaming about you last night and prayed for you as I woke up with you and Ava on my mind.

Every state has its own set of faults!
That is SO true, both for faults and lovely parts. But for some reason NJ is often the butt of jokes and most people only see the view from the Turnpike. NJ is amazing in all it has, as Chris has said. From ocean to mountains to pine barrens to loads and load of agriculture to name a few. Oops! Am I preaching? :D I won't even get into us being the step-sister of New York and not mentioned even when it's really US! I spent the entire Super Bowl a few years ago yelling "It's NEW JERSEY" at the TV! :floorlaugh: They were playing in NJ. Set UP in NJ, but all they kept referring to was New York. They'd show the NYC skyline and talk about being "Here in New York" and I'd yell, "You're standing in NEW JERSEY!"!
Oh my, I really AM preaching sorry! Hopefully it's a bit entertaining. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Chris, what do you say? @faerywings

@faerywings

Well, when my BiL lived in New Jersey (1970-72) we called it the "Garbage State" Expressway :couchhide: but I'm with you that the Meadowlands is in New Jersey and it's the New York Giants of New Jersey and Jets likewise. But then we call them the Oakland Raiders of Las Vegas too, so maybe no help. :rotfl:

My first husband lived at Pt. Pleasant Beach for several years before his family moved to KY where his dad is from (and still living at 92 years of age!). Tim and I vacationed there in NJ with his aunt the summer before my oldest was born in January. We went to the original Jersey Mike's sub shop! I was 5 months preggo, looking like I could deliver at any time, and he said to me, "What can I get for the lady with a basketball under her shirt?" She was due in Dec. but born Jan. 2 and weighed in at 10 lb. 6.5 oz.!
