Have you ever thrown away something that you later regretted?

I know I have! At the moment, I must have been in a "purge, purge, purge mode, but I have regretted a few things that I got rid of.

Not yet but I am in full purge mode. I am so tired of unpacking that I am tossing things b/c I just don't know where to put them.

Oh dear - you're in "that mode"! The last big move we made - a lot of things went and now I wish I hadn't gotten rid of some of them.

Yes, when i think something my older DD who is still at home (when she returns from japan). She is a horder and I sometimes I throw something away with out realizing it is important. She is almost 32 and me at 64 says...uhh don't need it!!! ooops I always play the OH I am so sorry card!

No. I am not a hoarder or collector. Over the last few years I have seen and been in many messy houses / apartments and this has encouraged me even more to dispose of everything immediately.

Lots of times, but I usually miss something once, then realize it's gone, and ... well, I just sigh and move on. What I hate though, is that my mom tossed most of my toys & stuff from my teen years. I'm sure most of it would have been tossed anyway, but I wish I had had the chance to decide. Hence: I've kept each and everything of John's stuff. We have a closet full of his toys. It will be for him to go through later.

So many times! A lot of the time, I threw something away and then forgot that I had done so. A few (fill in the blank days/months/years) later, I would waste more time looking for said item, only to remember or have someone remind me that I had tossed it.

I can only think of one thing that I wish had not given away. That was the Hope Chest that my DH gave me before we were even married. My son really wanted it when he moved out, so of course I said yes. I made sure it was ok with my DH first of course, but now every time I see it as his home I wish I had it back again. :(

My mom gave away one of my stuffed dogs once - I'd had Ginger since I was a little girl. Some friends of hers were over and their little girl found Ginger and Mom gave her my toy. I was SO upset, but it was gone. I even wanted her to go get it back. I was in my mid 20's and didn't "play" with Ginger anymore, but didn't want to get rid of him.

Look what I just posted on Sharon's post:

I've done that same thing - and wished I had it back. :( At least, it's still in the family.

When I get in a "purge mode" I do that then later on regret it. Sometimes it's a "silly little thing" but I want it back.

Given away? does that count?
I asked Maya if she would like my junk drawers for her new appartment and she said yes!
I really wanted her to have them but the regret is about all the stuff that was in there!
Now I am stuck with lots of junk (https://oscraps.com/community/media/junk-drawer.280408/) that I call treasures!
Absolutely "given away" counts! I've given away things that I regretted and always wanted to get back. I love "my junk".

I'm TRYING not to "hoard" things anymore. We downsized and that means getting rid of so much. I'm starting to accumulate again, though. LOL

Clothes occasionally. I lost weight again ...

Otherwise no, which bolsters me as I continue to purge increasingly ruthlessly!
Oh girl I've been 3 different sizes (at least) over the years. I wish I'd had room for ALL of the clothes that I got rid of. I always laughed and told myself that by the time I fit in them again, they'd probably be out of style. LOL

I know you're purging for your move.

All the time! I'm such a hoarder of things that are sentimental. As now I'm living in my grandparents house there are tons of things that I have to get rid of and then deeply regrets. For example she had a cups that aren't in group one or two of this kind, 3 from other. At the moment when I get ride of them I find on Instagram some cool idea for reused them as a garden pot and I'm so angry to myself!!!

From other side I have no problem to replace things which I'm buy by myself. At the same reason, if I'm wear that skirt in week that brings me bad memories I don't want to see it again, even if my butt is never looking better in other clothes. I will donate it as I care for the environment, but will not keep it even a second more.

No, I honestly can't remember doing so. I'm somewhat of a minimalist. I've actually accumulated some extra stuff over the winter months and it's driving me nuts. Have to get to my Marie Kondo cleanup again soon, or I'll go bonkers. :)
