Oscraps

Another "Begging for Streaming Shows to Watch" Thread :)

We are down to bare bones on our watch lists. We finished Wentworth, Hanna, and Poldark this week and we already had a very skimpy collection to start with. We have a few episodes left of Wheel of Time, Justified, The Witcher, and Manifest. Last night, we watched one episode of something on Hulu that I can't even remember the name... serial killer's kids and demons. Hel-something or other.
We have Netflix, Prime, and Hulu.
We have pretty eclectic taste, as you can see. The only ones we don't like are reality shows.

I will take any and all suggestions you have :)

My favorites on Netflix (at least here in Sweden): How To Get Away With Murder, Downtown Abbey, The 100, The Americans, Designated Survivor, Gilmore Girls, Virgin River, Marcella, Luther, Blacklist, Seven Seconds, Wanted, Bletchley Circle, Land Girls, The Alienist, Shadowhunters, Timeless, Snowpiercer (yay - season 3 starts soon!!!), The Keepers. I'm sure there are more, especially non-English shows, but I know you don't want that. Chicken!

If you want to laugh, at least here in Sweden there are some great British Stand-Up available on Netflix. My personal favorite are Jimmy Carr ... but he sure is not politically correct in any way. If there's a limit of any kind, you can count on him to be waaaay beyond it.

And - you gotta see Sopranos :)

I'm in The Zone ~ The "O" Zone
CHEERY O
We're watching a REAL documentary series from WWII. I don't normally like such realistic stuff, but this is actual footage from the war correspondents who were there for the duration. It's so unbelievable that those guys went right to the front lines and took pictures and made movies. We're into the D Day now and if you stand to watch
"real life" - it's extremely humbling what those men (most were just boys) went through. My uncle was lost - shot down over Germany and he was a navigator on a B52. Those kids didn't even know how to fly a plane and they put them in after a short training session and told them to fly them. It got down to -30 degrees in those planes. Like I said, it's devastatingly humbling.

Oh, it's on Netflix. We just finished a Conspiracy Theory series too. I think that was actually the name of it.

Of course, I mention "Longmire" all the time, but it's wonderful!

Cobra Kai is supposedly making a new season - we're anxiously awaiting that. It's the original cast of The Karate Kid (the Sensei has passed away, but they do a lot of cameos). They're all grown up now but still into martial arts.

Have you watched "Bosch"? LOVE, that! It's all done now, boohoo. All we watch is Netflix.

We can't get Sopranos, I think it is on HBO and we don't; have that! :(
I think I have seen just about everything you mentioned other than Bletchley Circle and Snowpiercer. And Gilmore Girls but I don't think Gary would be interested.
I have not heard anything about Bletchley- you think I would like it?

I can't imagine the WWII documentary We have seen a few Ken Burns docs and they are always very intense. How sad about your uncle :(
Bosch was great, we finished that too. I heard they are doing a spin-off. I wonder if it will be about his DD? They really expanded her character this last season.
I loved Longmire!

Lots of overlap here too:)
We are almost done with Good Girls too.

I am hoping that Cruel Summer gets another season, we liked The Sinner which had similarities (same Exec Producer so I see why).
Killing Eve is soooo good, I hope that there are more seasons of that one too.

We also started You last night. And Ozark is coming back on the 21st!

What a great thread this is. So many great recommendations. I don't know that I have anything to add to the multitude already suggested but what's on my radar to watch is:
  • Maid
  • The Sinner (the last season)
  • Lost In Space
  • Lucifer
  • Wentworth
  • Good Girls (the last season)
  • The Unforgivable
  • Black Mirror

I liked the Maid, the sinner and good girls. I only watched an episode or so of black mirror. I tried to watch wentworth but it's so close to orange is the new black that I couldn't finish it. maybe I should try again.

We like Wentworth so much more than we did OITNB. It is a lot darker though so keep that in mind too if you end up restarting it.

the free version only allows the first episode. in feb I will be getting peacock ( cheaper one with ads ) so i can watch the olympics - i mean ice skating at my leisure . free version limited to live showing , no streaming.

so feb seems the perfect month to check out yellowstone. not a big western fan but did love bonanza as a kid but not gunsmoke. I do like kevin costner and horses. so i have a feeling i will like it.

I got the $4.99 a month version and we still have limited commercials. :( They're not obnoxious, though, like regular TV. They don't bother us.
