Art Journaling ~ How Was Your Resolve This Month?

This month we have been journaling on the topic of Resolve. It was a tough one for me because I tend to not see the things that I do that are strong and iimpactful…so I had to think a lot about each and every page. I was still stuck on Chris’s last week of last month’s challenge, so I decided to use the same layout and just flip it 90 degrees each week and use mostly the same kits. I really enjoyed doing that and I’m glad that Chris really thinks out of the box! Here is my month:

So, this month again, Chris has done a fantastic job of wrapping up our month of journaling on RESOLVE:
Now it is time for mental reflection. I want you to close your eyes or just relax your vision, however you are comfortable. Take a few deep breaths and reflect on the past few weeks. Think about a point when you just were not feeling it. Nope, no way, not gonna do it. It doesn’t matter if it was something big, like facing your biggest fears, or something small, like really, really not wanting to wash the dishes. We’ve all been there.
Ok, now that you have that moment in mind, think about how you handled it. Did you mentally shake yourself, suck it up, and go for it? That is awesome if you did! Feel that moment of strength and resolve again. Maybe you are more like me and you hemmed and hawed and bribed yourself to accomplish the task. Ok, recall that feeling of squishy resolve when you got to your task. Maybe it was too much. You couldn’t do it. You simply did not have the energy to deal with whatever it was, big or small. You know what? That is OK! Say it with me. That is OK. Life is all about having another chance. So if that is where you were, go ahead and find that resolve within you. (I know it is there. You wouldn’t have gotten this far in life if it weren’t. I promise!) Then resolve to make a plan, take a first step, to do what it is you need to do.
Everyone with me? Do you have that feeling of “I can do it” energy?
Now it is time to take that energy, that spark, and put it on your scrap page. How will you express it? With color, with texture, or with a quote? However you feel it, just do it!
The only thing I want you to do is to add the word resolve to your page somewhere, however, you want to incorporate it. Big or small. Obvious or subtle.
And then pat yourself on the back when you are done.

I really enjoyed this month – your pages have all been so strong and impactful!! I can’t wait to see what you do for next month…which is… Fo- – – -ude. Can you guess the word??

I had to suck it up and get down to business with pulling the thousands of weeds that we had in our gravel around the shed. I hate, hate, hate that job, but its done and it looks great! I really should have done this challenge!!
Great article. Thanks for chosing my page!
Awesome blog post, as always, Susie. You have such a way with words.
