Art Journaling ~ Finding Your Muse

Can you believe it’s already February?? I certainly can’t! I haven’t had as much time to art journal as I have wanted to lately, but things are slowing down for me now. My hubby and daughter’s birthday is today, Valentines Day is on Friday, and then it’s no more events for a while.

One thing I wanted to talk about is finding your muse – finding what you want to scrap. Sometimes it’s hard for me because I get the muse to be artistic, but I don’t have a “prompt” to get me started. For some reason, unless something emotional happens, I need a prompt to get me going. That’s why I love the Art Journaling Challenges so much – they help me to start thinking about something to create. Some of the prompts just flow right out of me while others are really difficult. That’s okay! Learn to sit with the prompts and let them blossom and grow in your mind and creative soul. Don’t worry if you are the last one to post in the month – give it time!! It’s not a race to be the first one done either. d

Some ways to find your muse:

Do Art Journaling Challenges with prompts. This one’s a given for me as I make one of the challenges per month! LOLN
Use a Pinterest board and see what other people are posting and creating about.
If you have a word of the year, work through it throughout the year and scrap about ways that word has shown up in your life.
Look through some old pictures and see what feelings come up.
Find a kit that speaks to you and just play!

SO, For February, we want you to explore the theme of {PATIENCE} and how this concept is shown in your life. This could be in the way of personal growth or even goals you might have for yourself. .
