Art Journaling ~ The Connections We Make

Have you been enjoying our topic of the month = CONNECTIONS=? When we chose this theme, I really thought that it was going to be an easy one, but I have had quite a difficult time of it!! I usually have my page done within a couple of days of it being posted, but this month it took me to the last week to get # 3 and 4!! I hope you didn’t have a difficult time, and I hope that you got a page that you were happy with!!
Chris rounded out our month with her bend on the topic:
It is now time to wrap up our theme of “connections.” I don’t know about you, but this month’s topic was more emotional than I expected. I got (more than) a little teary while creating each week’s layout.
As I thought about it, I realized that our connections are what make us “us.” They are invisible guidelines that engage us as we travel on our journey through our very wondrous lives. They are the stable forces that ground us. They are also stretchy enough to let us fly while keeping us tethered to what is important. Connections are the people, the places, and the events that surround us with all of life’s experiences. It’s no wonder that I became emotional during this month’s Art Journaling.
For this week’s challenge, I’d like you to go back and mentally explore how you approached each of the challenges. How did you feel? Did you feel grateful, powerful, and energized? Did you feel lonely, sad, lost, or melancholy? Perhaps you were like me. I felt a blend of joy, sadness, resistance to change, and finally, the ultimate love of my family and closest friends.
However you felt, whatever emotions bubbled through your heart and mind, that is ok. You are ok. Always.
Now, I’d like you to take those emotions and scrap about them. If that is too heavy– and I get that it could be– perhaps you can pick one emotion and create your LO based on that. If you can, I’d love to see some threads or stitches on your page to symbolize the connections we have been discussing this month.

I had to quote the journailng here so you can read this – it’s so powerful!!
AJ4 Connections
You were the family’s melody, both in song & piano key.
You pushed me on the swing, taught me everything
of making tacos.
In my summer stays I was impressed
and so amazed when you bought me that dress!
I remember The Races and learning the paces of how to date.
The cheerful “Chatterbox” sister’s song is now quiet,
The keys are silent… …
So swiftly it settled in, bringing
changes none of us ever imagined.
How is it possible that we can’t even talk?
It’s been over a year since I heard your voice.
You don’t speak at all.
Now you exist without a choice; walk wobbly and fall.
You are thin and so frail.
This is Parkinson’s ugly tale.
Our wishes are fading along with your life,
And I don’t know what to pray for you?.
I love you, Debbie.

You still have a few days to finish a page!!
