Who uses a weighted blanket?

I am desperate for a good night's sleep. Insomnia and beyond weird dreams have taken over. Since I feel like I have tried about everything else, I am thinking about asking for a weighted blanket for Christmas.

If you have one or know anyone who does, can you tell me a bit about it? I know that there are different "weights" but how do you know what the right level is?
Last year they were very expensive but I know that there are a lot of knock off brands. Is there a brand that you recommend? Or one to stay away from?
So many questions for my extremely exhausted brain... thank you for any suggestions!

I have one and LOVE it! They recommend 1# per 10#s of bodyweight. I got a 20# one at Sam's and it works great when I'm heavier but when I was losing weight and getting closer to 150#, it was too heavy and I quite using it. Now that I've gained back all that weight loss, it's not too heavy any more. So, what that translates to is, I would go a little lighter because you could always add another blanket to give you a little more weight, but you can't take weight away.

highly, highly recommend in general!

Do you know Bach Flower Remedy Chris? At the time I also did that with Jolien who always had nightmares, achieved good results

I always go to a consultant who helps me put together the right drops for my problem.
At the moment she has given me a cure because I take home the problems of work and cannot let go.
But as you can see there are many kinds of drops.
Try to find a consultant who will help you find the right remedy.

OK, there are some things that bothers me:
1. You have to be very careful what is inside and is it supposed to can be washed. I use, of course, duvet cover bags for weekly laundry, and really, really hate the process of putting the blanket inside it, it is so difficult! But even then you'll still will have to laundry the blanket at some point, and guess what it's too heavy for my washing machine. We tried hand washing, but it's so heavy, so results is suspicious. Soo will have to ask family members with bigger machine or I know in US you have this huge launderette.
2. (Not for you Chris) if you have a small-to-mid sized dog or a cat, be careful not to let your fur baby bury itself under the blanket alone.
3. Many weighted blankets are filled with small objects that can also be a bit lumpy and noisy.
4. Some people notice that weighted blankets may causing back pain. https://youtu.be/xBpWSkiB8dc

To be honest mine is not Weighted Blanket , it's just traditionally for my country wool blanket, which is more sustainable and eco version. But as the definition is: ''A general guideline when deciding on how heavy your blanket should be is to multiply the user's body weight by 10% and add 1-2 lbs.'' Mine almost fits to that.
I know a girl that have one with 'glass' balls. And I watched nice reviews for Bearaby too.

Thank you all for the input, I sure need help because the lack of sleep is making me a cranky Faery.
Vera, I have used Rescue Remedy before and while it didn't work for me, I used it for one of my cats.

I poked around Amazon to see what was available. I see that some have glass beads and some are ceramic, is there a difference?
I will need to make sure it is washable- three dogs in the house make that a necessity. And felis-- Thank you for the warning about cats/small dogs. Like you said, my pups wouldn't be an issue- my littlest dog is 50+ lbs- but it is good to be aware of that.

the resque remedy is for general panic, you have to find a more focused remedy that suits your problem
