I don’t remember seeing dandelions down here. I am trying to remember back to last year and I just don’t remember seeing any. I love dandelions. Brian, my husband, doesn’t share my love of those pretty little yellow flowers.
For a couple of springs when Syd was little, she loved the dandelions. We lived next door to “Roger, the dandelion killer”. His yard was perfectly free of dandelions. But I wouldn’t let Brian kill ours because Syd loved them.

me too ... but not as much as other years ... it's to cold ... this morning when I wake up the grass was covered with a thin layer of snow ...

if it weren't for weeds of various kinds, I wouldn't have a lawn
I don't mind them in the "lawn" itself but they start to take over the little garden areas that I have, then I will pull them up.

I haven't noticed any yet, but we don't really have grass yet. LOL I don't know when they bloom here yet.

I always giggle how people who aren't capable to use them keep calling them 'weeds'. Some persons are just too disconnected from the mother Nature and eco gardening! Wouldn't be surprised if they call even basil weed. roll
I love them and have lots in my garden and they already start to bloom. So pretty!

I love dandelions! We don't get them here, but I saw lots in New Jersey. And in New Hampshire, where I grew up, the leaves were used in salads! (thrifty New Englanders, lol).
When you were a child did anyone of you hold a dandelion under someone's chin to see if they liked butter? (We kids said if you could see the yellow reflected on the person's chin that mean they liked butter.) Or was that just something the crazy kids I hung out with made up???

Only once and I remember them being bitter. But I was a kid. Now I think I'd probably like them. (maybe).

Long ago friends of ours collected dandelions from which they made dandelion wine. Surprisingly it was quite good.

That's the exact use of the herbs garden!@felis My grandparents made "minesta" Not sure how to spell it but it is dandelion greens, cannellini beans over polenta. Good Italian peasant dish. My grandma would literally pick them from her yard and cook them
I have Italian friend which make it on salad, with pasta or with egg and cheese. I'm not sure which one is dandelion greens. Personally I'm a tea girl, and prefer its detoxicate quality. I just recently learned that can be use at home made cosmetic for skincare, but I'm not tried it yet.
