Yes, a lot of designers are using the AI generated software called Midjourney. Apparently is heavily relies on just what text you enter so that part needs to be very detailed and specific, but the results are amazing. There was a debate going on in an art group I am in, with some people calling it art and some dead against it, calling it cheating etc.
The group lead was great in the way he explained it, saying something along the lines of '... if you generate a piece of art using AI and do not do anything else with it, and call it your own, it could well be considered a bit dubious. However, if you then DO something else with that AI generated image, like incorporating it into an art project then that would be considered okay as he likened it to using a stock photo in an art project, which is pretty well acceptable these days.' He tended to look at the AI generation as tool of sorts, much like the other tools people use on their photos like actions etc.
So like anything new there will be people that like or dislike it, but that is the way it is all heading I guess. There is even more talk about how AI generated images will see the demise of photographic models as people that need those type of images will no longer need to pay the model for royalty fees etc etc. Of course AI will certainly infiltrate a lot of areas in the coming years which is both exciting and scary from my point of view. lol! What will be 'real' or 'not real'!!
