Oscraps

When is an Oscraps product no longer an Oscraps product?

Ok, so the odd title drew you in, right?

Well, I have a question for the Powers That Be which might help us all....

If a designer leaves/retires from the O but has contributed to products in one of the Oscraps Collaboration kits currently available in the shop, can we use these products and still call them "Oscraps"? I'm particularly thinking of the 100% Oscraps requirements for the Spotlight challenges.

Many thanks.

Selena this is a good question - hahahahah love the title!! :) I know we have had this come up in the past.....

Sally, Vicki or Laura will be able to answer this best :) (a.k.a. the powers that be!)

...loves her some "O"
yep!!! if the design was premiered at the O and you bought it from the O, it's an O product. Where it gets funky is if the designer is selling those products at another store now. But definitely if it is in an O Collab, you're good!! :)

Sally, it means that if the designer retired/left Oscraps, but we got the product at the O (when the designer was still here), and it's not being sold anywhere else... we can consider it an Oscraps product? Thanks! :)

Thank you Selena! This was a very useful question! :D

If the designer has completely retired and they retired from Oscraps, we've deemed those products fine for the 100% Oscraps challenges.

If they moved, the products do not qualify.

We hate to be too legalistic about this and, really, we're not...so don't stress about it. LOL

always chatty at the O!!
So, we can use things like Leiko's designs or Sweet Genevieve's but not Karah Fredricks or Create Wings as stand alone products. But if it was offered only here or was in a collab it would be okay. Is that right?? I have wondered this myself. Great question Selena!!

but how do you know if it was exclusive O or available elsewhere? there are SO many stores out there, hard to know who has what where!

Andrea, it is difficult to know sometimes! I keep track of the challenges at another site, and I basically say that a designer's products are good for that month after they leave. So many "retire" and then pop back up in a new store a few months later - its impossible to keep track. I think that in general, if you follow that rule, you'll be safe.

But like the others have said - here at the O, if its part of an O collab, use it. If the designer is retired, its okay to use. We want you to have fun and enjoy your scrapping, more than anything else. :D

I use my good friend Google if I have a question. Google the kit name and see if it comes up somewhere else. Or Google the designer and see if they have a store somewhere else.
