What's the first thing you are going to do post-vaccine?

I got my first vaccine today!! [dancing smilie] I am so excited. Already my mind is looking forward to certain things and honestly, dreading some others once I am fully dosed. One of the first things I want to do is hug my mom and dad. They are getting up there (79 and 82) and I almost lost my mother last summer and I couldn't even visit. It has been a year (and 6 days but who is counting?) since I have hugged them and I can't wait. The next big thing I want to do is get my hair cut and colored since it has been since November 2019 since that was done. It is awful but since it is always in a bun/brain/ponytail, it is easy enough to ignore. But it will be nice to get rid of the dead ends and hide all of the grey.
I am not looking forward to having to be out in public for any reason and I *really* don't want to have to wear real clothes even it is just jeans. I kinda like the daytime PJ lounge look heh!
Have you gotten your shot(s) yet? What are you going to do once you are fully vaxed?

I don’t even qualify yet. My dh does but no luck scheduling an appointment.

First, I’m going out to eat in a restaurant. Next up is a movie. Lastly, I’m going to check out the new Amazon store in The Gardens Mall. It opened last year, so I haven’t been able to go.

Lucky you...
I want to be vaccinated too.
But first, I wish my parents (83 & 82 yo) 'll be vaccinated asap...

After that, I want to go in a restaurant (they are all closed in France), and go to holidays.

Good news for you, Chris!! We're in the boondocks and chasing the vaccine. I guess the less populated areas probably got less. But remember - the "science guys" say we still may not be safe even after we're vaccinated. They're just trying to keep us from getting too excited here. :(

I guess it is funny for me that I have no interest in going to a movie or to a restaurant since I rarely did that pre-covid. But to be able to pop into a store like TJ MAXX or the Christmas Tree Shop to look for something or wander a bit will be really nice.
My kids can't wait to be able to hang out with their friends again. They had a few fires at each other's houses over the summer but the winter has been too cold and snowy to do that.

I truly hope that everyone gets an appt soon. I have been trying to help my kids and husband (we are all high risk from Late Stage Lyme and other issues) and to say it is a crap-shoot is an understatement.

I have appointement Thursday for the vaccine.
normally my age group should not have access to the vaccine yet, but my doctor says as long as he has vaccines he vaccinates anyone who wants. So go!
Then he will cheat anyway, wait a little while hoping that restaurants, hotels and guest houses can open. Then we can finally think of a vacation and start living again.
and I could finally hug my grand kids in my arms again without feeling guilty

I think it'll be a few more months before I can get mine. My hubs gets the first one next wk as he is essential service, working for carehomes. I can't wait to visit my granddaughter in person instead of facetime as we've done for a year now. Next year is retirement so when it is safe to do so, we want to start planning a trip, not sure if it will be the panana canal or a long train trip across the US or because of the dogs, maybe just a trip away with them, maybe down the coast. Either way, I am looking forward to a bit of traveling when we can.

I got my 2nd shot last week and my sister had hers a few weeks ago. She is planning a trip over to visit me next month [we live about 300 miles apart in 2 different states). We both lost our husbands a year apart. Both of our anniversaries are in April so we thought spending time together then would give us something to look forward to. Not planning on going out much while she is here - mainly just visiting together at my home.

You will have so much to catch up on, Kay. No need to go anywhere :p
I can't wait for the summer when I can go to my BFFs and float in her pool and talk for hours and hours!

So I get my second vaccination on April 3. My best friend from high school is coming for 5 days on April 15. I am so excited to see her!

I guess I've now done that first thing. Last night I went into our favorite pub to get take-out. Haven't done that in almost a year. It was wonderful seeing several of the regular servers and getting to talk with one who was in for take-out too.

I won't get mine for a few weeks yet. There are 2 groups ahead of me. First thing I will do is hug my daughter. It has been at least 2 years then I want to head off to see my brother in the interior. I haven't seen him for more than that long either.

Today I must say that I have more than enough of this Covid.

We were ready to go to stay with friends in the south of France, Côte d'Azur. The suitcase ready, the car loaded with gifts and pétanque balls. And patatras! last night the Prime Minister announced additional restrictive measures and passed their region in confiment. Inter-region travel prohibited.
This is the 3rd time in a year that we are about to leave and that it is canceled at the last moment.

Our life has become a series of failed acts! I'm fed up

Oh no!!! I am so sorry. I am seeing in the news that all over the EU cases are rising. I really hope that you can get on your vacation at some point soon. xo
