And now that I have totally derailed this thread, I have something to contribute in a good way. For real
I read this article yesterday and found it pretty helpful. A not-intimidating guide to meal planning
Some of the suggestions I do. I have a running list on note paper of food ideas so I have a general idea of what I can make. But other than that, I am mostly lost day to day because everyone's schedules are weird. Everyone's food preferences are weird too, which complicates things. One of the suggestions in the article was to use a recipe storage app. I already use Yummly. And Allrecipes, and Pinterest, and Just a Pinch, as well as saving some to my Google Docs-- which in hindsight kind of complicates things a little more. *winks* Just a little. hehe
I looked at some of the apps mentioned in the article and decided to give Paprika a try. It is free on Google Play but I sprang for the full version which was only $5. I added a few of my favorite meals already and it looks like there are a lot of ways to use it- make a meal schedule, search by ingredients, and keep pantry inventory and shopping lists.
Thought I would pass it along since we all seem to struggle with this
