What is your favorite thing to relax?

Everyone is under stress these days. I am currently under a lot of stress at work.
There is a staff shortage and we have to train a lot of new people, sometimes with 16 people on a line (I work in a packaging factory where we pack medication) where we normally only have 6 or 7 people.
A lot of noises and a lot of noise make me wild (I am highly sensitive and sensitive to overstimulation).

To relax, I like to go out in nature, listen to the sound of the birds. A good walk or bike ride, followed by a nice drink is so nice. I've even put my PC in the porch so I can watch the birds in my yard!

What do you do to relax after a stressful day?

Vera, as someone who is also sensitive to light and sounds like you are, I understand how that must make you feel. Totally on edge.

I love to be outside, I call it Dirt Therapy. Weeding, caring for my plants, talking to the toads, chipmunks, and snakes that I see- that helps me restore my balance. This time of year it is much harder to do that since it is usually too cold to be outside for any length of time. That is when I end up snuggling with the rats or playing with the dogs.
I also end up baking and eating which is not a healthy choice. LOL

Vera, sorry that you are having such stress at work!! My Grandson is also very sensitive to over stimulation and too much noise, he also has sensory issues, which is why he refuses to get his hair cut. Poor kid thinks it will hurt. :( . I am like you and love to be out in nature and go hikes, look for wildlife and enjoy all of the beauty that surrounds us here on the Island! A nice hot bath afterward and a lovely glass of wine to finish off the day is the perfect way to relax for me :)!

I like the quiet. I can sit quietly, sip coffee or tea and read a book but this doesn't last more than 30-45 min though b/c Remi will come and start bugging me to play or take her outside. I also find it very relaxing to grab my camera and head out for a photo walk.

That's right Chris, in the summer I also have my flower garden that I like to work in. And I recognize that food too :D

Oh how bad of your grandson to be so over-stimulated that even cutting hair is difficult for him.
I only take a bath in the winter, because I'm bored in the bath :D

If only we lived closer together, we could take pictures together.
I used to like to read books, but these days it's not so good anymore, I fall asleep right away!

Yes, I often think about us going out exploring and taking photos too. Wouldn't that be fun!

Oh yes i would love that !
We would have so much fun and maybe we'd spot an owl together :) I still can't believe it was sitting in the tree in my yard yesterday! I have been wanting to get a good owl shot for years now and didn't think it would ever happen.
