i was looking through the shop...and saw some things called press plates.....what exactly is that and how do you use them???

ok i think i get it....i've d/l'd a few...and i see some are layered and some are not...at least for me?? is that how its supposed to be? or is it just my program not being able to open some of them properly?

Press Plates should be layered template files by Paislee Press. I'm pretty sure they're all layered PSD files, so it may be a program incompatibility?

Yeah most designers give templates a quirky name of their own and Press Plate is the name for Paislee Press. Kitty calls them Sketches, Peppermint calls them Flight Plans, etc. They should be in a psd or tif format. If they are in a jpg format it would be a quickpage and then you just put the photo behind it and add elements and journaling to the front. Some people swear by templates. I am one of those people. Here is a great tutorial for using a template is Photoshop. The directions are very similar in PSE: http://taylormadedigidesigns.blogspot.com/2006/05/using-layered-templates-in-photoshop.html

i use templates sometimes.....so i think it must be my program that wont allow me to open certain ones in layered format :) no biggie :) i got a few that will open layered so its all good LOL
