What are you looking forward to in 2023?

Do you have a major event coming or a special birthday or celebration? Something that you are really looking forward too?

For me nothing really special this year, at least for as far as I know now. My son however, who is in the army , is going to Lithuania for almost four months. He now only comes home in the weekens, so I will miss him. He's leaving somewhere in April, so I still have some time to get used to the idea. When he returns from Lithuania he is planning to move out permantly. He wants to buy a house for himself a bit closer to work. Understandeble, but also weird that he will not be living with us anymore.
He's going to get his driverlicense in the coming four weeks. He's getting a course from the army.

I am also looking forward to spring, so I can work in my garden again. I'm already planning what vegetables I will grow this year and what flowers I will have. I love being outside in my garden, so I can't wait for the gardening season to start again.

I'm looking forward to our grandson spending two weeks with us again this summer! We always have the best time. I'm also looking forward to spring weather, although it isn't very cold now, but spring is always a re=awaking and I can start to get my gardens ready.

It's so wonderful to have such a great relationship with your grandson. I can imagine that you are looking forward to having him around for a few weeks!!

Gardening is such a great thing to focus on @Jeannette. I should try that too. At the end of the season, I sketched out all of the plants that I had and took photos so I would remember what was planted where. I had intentions of starting a garden planner but I still have the rough sketches shoved into a notebook and haven't touched them since :(

Last year was a big year for the family- Both of my kids got jobs in their career fields. Caitlyn graduated with her MSW and got engaged. This year is going to be quieter in that area. No major plans/activities/vacations. Maybe that is a good thing? ;)

The big thing in my immediate future is I will be getting my new car in early Feb. It is a 2023 Sonata SEL (non-hybrid) and should arrive the 1st week in Feb. I put a deposit on it - got the Vin number so I will know it is the one I ordered. Then I will be selling the 2012 Dodge Journey SUV I currently drive. I have been looking at the Sonatas for the past couple of years and finally said that this is year to buy it.
