I saw on her FB page that Liz was moved to a cancer ward and started chemo last night. It sounds like it is going to be a long brutal treatment, but if Liz is anything like her mom, she is going to be strong and a fighter.

Maureen also posted on her blog-- in her siggie.

maureen, the prayers and good thoughts are still coming at you

Thanks again so so very much and you Chris are great at doing those updates for me. We came home from Baltimore just zonked each day. Sitting and watching and waiting is exhausting as many of you know who have done hospital stays with family.

Chemo is in day two and Liz is mostly sleeping. She is off her morphine drip and onto oral morphine, as the chemo should be alleviating the pain of the tumor pressing against her eye and elsewhere in her head. By Monday if she leaves the morphine will be over.

This is today's post from FB.

Today was a visit with Liz's social worker. Her two sets of parents and her local brother came up with a plan to deal with her extensive outpatient treatment which may start..eek! Monday. We're talking about a possible 4 months.

Tonight we bought her a bed, and started rearranging our house.

Tomorrow am we meet with the head of Oncology at UMDMC to discuss the continuing treatment plan and her hopeful transfer to outpatient treatment at AnneArundelMC. (This is about 3 miles from our house!)

Sunday we rest up.

Thank you so much to her brother and Vince and Amy McCarron who will be alternating Liz's care with us, sometimes at their home down in NC. (Iain Mccarron - I know you would be as involved as everyone else if Mother Nature didn't throw a snowstorm into the mix. boo hiss)

I am blessed to have such a giving family.

Maureen... my heart goes out to you and your family, although I have not dealt with your situation I know from experience how draining it can be to watch helplessly and be at the mercy of the doctors and nurses. I basically lived at the hospital with my daughter for 3 months and I feel for you my dear!! Every ounce of my soul is sending out healing thoughts to you and your loved ones, may you find strength in knowing that we all care about you so much!!

Continuing my thoughts for all of you.

Maureen, I hope that you are finding time to put your feet up and read or scrap or sleep, or something. You and YMG can't put your own health on the line either. I know, I am being a buttinski-bossy faery but its only cuz I aodre you! Just ask Nana Linda- I am always telling her the same.

Maureen my heart goes out to you...I know how tiring it is to make sure she is taken care of. In one of your posts you said that once she leaves the hospital the morphine will stop, why is that?

My mom right now is home and she gets morphine orally, is there a health reason your daughter can't get it while home. You may want to ask about that, especially if she is in pain....

Hugs to you my dear, remember to take care of yourself through this process....you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I think all that you can do is pray that she gets the treatment she needs. I think you have done what you can so don't stress yourself out. We are here if you need to let it out!
