Is it anyone here who lives in or near Manchester? We have kinda half-a-plan to go there in August. Any ideas for a nice and cheap place to stay? A local guide would be nice too :)

Actually Manchester has at least TWO great football teams; Manchester Utd (the one most people have heard of) and Manchester City (who are the current English Premiere League champions)

Eva, I think most of the UK girls are based "down south" and although the UK isn't huge, Manchester's about 165 miles north from me (I live near Oxford). If you ever decide to visit London, I would LOVE the meet up :-)

Audrey (aka Snowdropz) lives in/near Birmingham (I think), which is closer to Manchester!
 
Sorry Eva, I'm in the middle of London, so if Sue is 165 miles, then I have to be over 200 miles away.

Don't worry Jacqueline - it's only Man Utd that counts anyway.

In fact ... it's the only team in the entire UK. Yep ... that's true. All the rumours you've heard of other teams - just myths.

Just realized. If we're going to UK this summer, I must add the cost of all the Man Utd merchandise I'm gonna get. Not gonna tell DH about that part though LOL
