I learned this week that Stephanie Meyer, the author of the Twilight saga had begun another book, this one written from Edward's perspective. Unfortunately, the book or a portion of it was leaked onto the internet. Stephanie Meyer now has chapter one and a partial draft of 264 pages posted on her webpage.
Follow this link to learn more:
Midnight Sun

I've read the first chapter and it is quite intriguing. Have not yet tackled the 264 page partial draft yet.

I am almost done with book two and need to get my hands on 3 and 4!
That sounds very cool- great concept- esp since he is so "secretive" in the first two books.

TFS!

I am reading book two now...and I have to say I am not enjoying it as much as the first one although I am enjoying learning about Jacobs family it's kind of slow paced.

Thanks for the link! I loved the Twilight series...but I agree with Kat & Sally...book two was not my favorite. I'm so tempted to read the manuscript on the blog....

I've read one and two and have three and four in a Barnes and Noble bag upstairs. I have not read the 294 page draft, but did read chapter one. It gave me new things to think about. I too thought book two was a little slow - except the last 60 or so pages!

always chatty at the O!!
Book 2 is not the best book as far as what yo want to read about but it is really necessary for 3 and 4. YOu need to have the whole book about Jacob to really feel the dynamic between Bella, Jacob and Edward. Their friendship is very important in the whole series so just get through book 2 and you will not be disappointed with 3 and 4. This whole book from Edwards point of view though...I don't know. I might have to check it out.

I read that Midnight Sun when they posted it last year. I really liked it and I hope she does finish it. I've read all 4 books twice now.

I didn't "click" with book 1....I read it last summer/fall when my students at church were going gagga over it..

Should I read it again, and give it another chance?

Kayte,
We have a function called FFA Legislative Breakfast. Our District Officers have some of their training Wednesday night and then breakfast with the legislators Thursday morning and more training after breakfast and photos. It's usually a pretty fun trip, just having crappy weather right now. Since three of the six officers for our 9 school district are my students, I got elected to take them.

How fun...FFA trips...those were always the "rats" aka boys that acted up...lol...I however, was the good one!

Have fun...do you have an ipod to listen to something else on the drive? Remember, YOU control the radio in the car! (LOL)

Be safe....k

Kayte,
There is a cd player in the van. Nope, no ipod for me :(
this is my 25th year teaching and advising FFA members. My oldest daughter was a state officer last year and was our National Officer Candidate this past October. I also have the blue and gold jacket - a couple of them actually :)

Way cool!
I only made it as far as State Farmer (my jr year).
Had to step away from FFA my sr year, because the class I could have taken conflicted with sr English....Small Engines or Sr English....you tell me what my parents told me to take......

My brother made it to American Farmer - which was way cool for him. I was so proud.

My niece and nephew have started the 4-h route...so we'll see if they do FFA...

Sorry to hijack the thread...back to twilight....should I re-read the first book and give it another chance?

Hmmm...don't know, Kaylea....I was taken in right away. Maybe it's one of those books you either love right away or not at all.

The whole series was a fun read for me....if you have it...try it again...I can't get enough. I was so disappointed when I finished the final book because I wanted more.

I started reading the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris. They're the books that the HBO series "True Blood" is based on. They're really good too...but they have a bit more adult content.

I'll be curious if you liked it on your second try!
