Some days this is my theme song and others it is my mantra:
Today it is both.
I was outside with the dogs at 8 am, in my pajamas of course. My one dog goes inside and I am trying to get the other one, who thinks her only job in life is to guard our driveway ferociously, inside with her. She is on a lead and thanks to prior bad experiences with that, I am very careful where I put my feet. She got the lead stuck under the tire of one car and I reach down to pull it out. As I am doing that, I can sense her body tensing up which means:: WARNING! There is someone on the street. Must run and bark to keep driveway SAFE! I get my one foot away from the lead but not the other one in time. She takes off, I go down with a long F-Bomb and exasperated "again!"
So what is the bright side of this, you ask?
Two things:
1. I faceplanted in the muddy lawn which was a much softer landing than when she took me down last year on the asphalt driveway. That hurt, a lot. So- softer landing. 2 thumbs up.
2. SInce I landed on the muddy lawn, sure I got dirty but it could have been so so soooo much worse. I miraculously missed any dog poop. Mud, I can handle but dog poop, yeah- let's not think about *that.*
I know that we all have had experiences where something crummy could have been pretty awful if one thing went differently. I want to hear your stories!
