just read an article by Charles Krauthammer about some cool stuff that MAY be going on in the world of physics:

http://jewishworldreview.com/cols/krauthammer100611.php3

i think this stuff is so fascinating!! (and if you don't, you're probably wondering why the heck i'm bothering you with this post!!)

it reminded me of a page i made an age ago, when i was but a puppy at digi-scrapping. i had just watched a show on NOVA that dealt with Quantum Mechanics and String theory . (i always WANTED to be the sort of mind who could engage in theoretical physics. HA...Ha...Ha.... it never worked.) the show reminded me of something i used to engage in a lot in my back yard as a kid, so i made a page about it. that's the cool thing about scrapbooking and memories and writing and art. you can leave a piece of yourself behind for anyone to see and read and get an idea of who you are/were. (if you have any desire to read the journaling, just click on the page and it'll take you to the words.)

one of Anna's CT members got a comment from a reader when she was published in a digi scrapping mag recently. the person, who claimed to be an interior designer, said that she could never see the POINT of scrapping, and that she thought it was "tacky." imagine that. not only doesn't that person get theoretical physics. she doesn't even get ART or the importance of documenting history, especially your own.

so, YAY to all of us Tacky B*&^%$S who are leaving a trail in the spaces where we live. :cheer2:

Dang I just lost what I was writing....basically I agree with you that scrapping is a media that can document your thoughts, view points or just a creative way to create art.

The comment of the so called "Interior Designer" makes me wonder if she is any good in her field. As a Designer you have to be open to seeing things in an artistic way. If she can't see scrapbooking as an art media, she definately most be lacking this must have talent to interpret art into design.

Now this is just the sort of high brow post I needed to read this afternoon to get me to pull myself together and stop mulching around. Me, today, I've been leaving a trail of dirty socks (laundry day, don't ya know) - hence the mulching. So, thank you for making me stop, read & wonder.

And laugh at the Interior Designer and her comment - what did she expect to see reading a digital scrapbooking magazine?! And how dare she be so rude. I raise a glass (well, ok, mug of tea at this time of day) to us tacky scrappers and the history we are creating

Bring it on.

I love your post and your quantum mechanics scrapping. What a fun thing to have in your childhood to remember. Anyone coming across it in future will have so much to ponder in learning who you are/were. As a genealogist I have an enormous regard for all our preservation of image, words, thoughts. Just imagine what you could learn if you had such things from the past. Thanks for a deep thought and big smile to start the day.

I love it Phylis! (I also love any page with a lot of story, and yours rocks!) I do energy work (JinShinJyutsu) and in studying this, we really go into how energy creates matter and matter will of course become energy. As they say, God (or god) is in the details. We, most of humankind, just aren't there yet. One day I do believe we will be able to breakdown - into energy - and reform our own matter and be skilled in non-invasive healing. That's just one idea that fascinates me.

Tacky is as tacky does, and I do believe that ID must truly have a shadow tacky side but "Don't make no nevermind to me!" I enjoy scrapping and that is my bottom line. Better for me than eating cream puffs too!

What a story, Phylis! I LOVE the way you shared it and the conclusion is what it is all about. You certainly made magic happen on this one!

AWESOME STORY PHYLLIS!!! I LOVE IT!!

and as for that Designer....well.....he/she obviously doesn't have a life worth remembering....

I know that the reason most of us scrap is to tell "our" story...I started out wanting to scrap the "past"...my children as they were growing up and got too caught up in scrapping my grandchildren instead...BUT.....I find myself coming across kits and elements that bring out wonderful memories from the past, from my children or even when I was child, and then a fabulous memory is now on paper for my kids, grandkids and all future generations to share with me. NOW....HOW COULD THAT BE POINTLESS????

PROUD TO BE TACKY!!!!!!
