Phone Call or Text?

Danesa

Am I the only person, in the universe, that misses phone calls? My girls usually text (which I'm grateful to hear from them everyday) but I miss hearing their voices. Now, business, is great for texting but family ... I like hearing their voice. It gives me a layer of confidence that they are doing well. :) What I REALLY love is FaceTime. That way I can see & hear them. I'm lucky to get one of those a week. haha

I am with you... I prefer phone calls to texts. Partly as I just got a "smart phone" and changed my cellphone provider last year so I now can sent/receive texts. Still learning the in's and out's of using it so don't do much texting. My kids prefer to text but they know I don't do it much - so they call me instead of texting.

I love to get the phone calls, but really love that my DD and I Facetime almost every day. My son does text us a lot, but he usually likes to phone us every once in a while because he wants to talk to his Dad. My DH refuses to have a phone and hates that everyone texts instead of talking to each other. Guess after 35 years of being in the R.C.M.P. and having a phone on his hip 24/7 I can't really blame him for not wanting a phone. :becky:

I'm a texter but my hubs hates it. He complains all the time that he would rather talk on the phone. I just find it faster and easier to rely info back and forth by texting so that's my preference usually but if its a long talk about things then chatting on the phone is ok too.

I prefer texts too. They are so convenient and If you forget something. It is in the text to remind you. You could receive them anywhere... love them

Texts. I hate talking on the phone.
Me too! WhatsApp is only reason to use my cell phone. I'm happy that the era of phone is gone. It's so much easier to be funny and calm when texting, in combination with photos and smiles :phone::bored: . I wish provider to was able to offer a plan only for MBs, no need phone minutes.

I love Whatsapp, messenger and texting. I hate when the phone rings, it makes me grumpy (or annoyed). I can ignore the text notifications if I'm not in the mood for talki

There are days that I am all talked out. So texting allows me to think about what I'm going to say or respond and it's a quick way to share finds on social media or the news.
There is nothing like a real conversation with some of my friends and family though. Some of them just don't communicate well with text and hearing inflections and emotions is something truly missed through media.

Maybe this is my issue LOL
My family (read: my mom!) always ask if there is something wrong when I am at family gatherings since I listen more than chat like I used to. I think a lot of is it that I don't have much to say other than what has been said a million times before? It is easier to listen.
