Pets watching television

There is a veterinary ophthamologist at the University of Wisconsin conducting a survey of people who say their dogs watch TV. She is doing it because it is difficult to test vision in pets and she is trying to develop new diagnostic aids.

For those of you who have dogs (and cats, too)...do you think they watch your TV? The receptionist at my former office would play nature videos of birds, chipmunks, etc on her tablet for our clinic cat to watch - she said it kept him out of her way, lol.

Our cat watches TV a lot. He'll climb right up on the fireplace mantle to see it better. The dog does too, sometimes.

Mårten don't get it at all. He can hear something on the telly, but he starts looking all over the place for the cat/bird/whatever, but NOT on the tv. Discord on the other hand LOVES watching animals on TV. Completely mesmerized.

Public service here in Sweden has this annual thing they show, 24-7 live TV from a forest. It's this river that mooses cross every spring. Discord absolutely love watching that. All sort of wild life, and lots of bird song. I guess it will start soon again, he'll be thrilled.

My cat does some - she tries to catch whatever she sees so we had to mount the TV on the wall where she souldn't reach it! Mostly, though, she likes a lap to sleep in and wakes up when the TV goes silent.

I had a cat who watched bird programmes, until he understood they were not behind the telly..

Another one loved to watch Ice speedskating...

My Ishka (the brown dog) absolutely does watch. My Inuyasha (the white dog) doesn't really seem to. Ishka's favorite show is the anime "Inuyasha." (Yes, I am amused that the dog that loves the "Inuyasha" anime is Ishka.)
