I'm curious who has other hobbies besides photographing and scrapping.
I myself, when my children were small, i sewn their clothes. From my grandmother I learned to crochet and knit, I also like to arrange flower arranging.
Last year I hooked a blanket, I am currently making the same for my daughter, and then I have to make one for my sister.
And after that I have a lot of ideas to pinterest to crochet.

This was the example blanket

This is the one i made

As you Veer, i learned sewing and knitting, and crochet as girl !
I had always something " in work" ! We also had sewing or knitting hour every week at school !
Later when i was working, i hadn't time anymore for this !
But know i am so happy to come back to such creative hobbys.

As i showed i another thread for the moment i have a big love to "amigurimis". my Grandchildrens are happy to find always new friends by me !

For the moment i have gloves in work .. i want to make me special "photographers gloves" .... where the fingers i need for photographing are free, and the other are warm ! ....
I hope to bring my idea to reality ! i show you when i have finished.

wow ... fabulous ... love your blanket Veer ..
I find it better than the copy of the store ... what format did you make ..did you have to put pieces together or was this made in one piece? in the end is this still quite heavy?

Marie-Claire your latte animals are to cute ... I love them ...

we are the generation who learned to knit and crochet a bit at school ...

my pillow in tunic crochet is almost ready ... it has to be put together ... but first has to get into the city to get the matching needle ...

maybe I'll start with a blanket ...

I think that I mentioned in the original thread that I do a small bit of crocheting. I don't know if I would call it a hobby as it tends to be very haphazard.

One thing that I love to do is gardening and yard work. I *love* that, it makes me feel so much better when I can get my hands in the dirt and watch things grow. (how many days until spring????)

I am in awe of all of your talents!

OOh I love your beautiful work Veer and Marie-Claire! When my children were little I used to knit some of their clothes! Haven't done so for years! I now have different hobbies! I started to dabble more into photography! Doing courses and buying some extra's for my Nikon! Now learning to work with speedlights for example! Here is my latest photo of Nine my granddaughter! She is just big enough to look through this window, and she saw for the first time the snow!

Marie-Claire, those little animals are just so darn cute!!! and your mention of making fingerless gloves brought a memory to mind of mother knitting us those for winter! and socks!! I used to be fascinated watching her knit these as she used 4 (?) knitting needles, but they didn't have an end on them like a normal knitting needle. My poor Mum, she tried very hard to teach me to knit and crochet (with only two needles!!! lol!!) and I just couldn't 'get it'! My sister on the other hand can sit there at night watching TV and knit away, beautiful jumpers and other fabulous stuff! *sigh* :)

Marjike, yes, I agree, all those crafty things are no longer taught at school which is a pity. My mother did teach me the basics of sewing and later on at school I learnt to embroider and later on in my adult life I took up sewing again and still love it. My granddaughters I am SURE would not even know how to thread a needle a sew a button on!!!

One of my daughter-in-laws was going out one night with my son and I was there babysitting. I was sitting watching TV while they were getting ready. She came out with a STAPLER!!! and was about to staple the hem on her dress that had come down!!! LOL!! I just went NO!!!! :) Go find me a needle and thread!!!!

Diane, what a great idea for a mat!! brilliant and would be ideal beside the bed! :hail:

Marianne, what a gorgeous photo of your granddaughter!!! I need to get better at my photography as well. Once we are settled somewhere I want to see if there are any photography classes anywhere! :) :photo:

Yes ! i am knitting my gloves with 4 needles ! this is not easy, i must say ! .. but i finished my first glove yesterday evenning ! Up to do the second.

As long as i remember i always see my mother too knitting, or crocheting, or embroying .... i think she had done anyting in her life : norvegian knitting, patchwork, as i was younger she did all our clothes : pants, dress and so on.
As i was teenager, I did not want to wear these pants because they had not the right brand, the brand who was just fashion !
I wanted Lewis like all other girls !

One hour in, and I am just getting started. I could stay out forever.

We had a funny conversation at dinner last night. The two kids were debating who had the better college major and career track. Scott is Enviromental Science and Cait is Pyschology. I had to chime in and give points to Scott since he gets to be outside with rocks and plants.:thumb:

Bwuahahahaha!! That would be me!!! I cannot sew to save my life!

Marie-Claire- I am in awe. I can barely crochet using one needle. I could never get the hang of knitting using 2 needles. 4 of them?? :faint:

I have loved to sew since I was about 10. I made most of my clothes and sewed clothes for my family. I even made some of my hubby's military uniforms.

I also knit, crochet, do flower arranging, paint, draw and other crafts. I enjoy designing and creating jewelry.

Here are a few of the pieces I made a few years ago.
