Having lost some data when my BRANDNEW 1 TB WD EHD died last night ..... I am seriously looking into the option of having an online backup.

Does anyone here use it? What do you work with?

My problem is that all of my data is on the EHD.
From what I understand, Mozy is considered very reliable ... but they charge based on # of computers, 5$ per computer. And they don't restrict the amount of data ... i think.
Dropbox sound good but they charge 20$ for 100 GB and that is the maximum size. I have 320 GB already ....

Do you know of another option and please tell me about your experience.

I also use Mozy, because Carbonite won't recognize EHDs (as far as I know). I only back-up my studio computer (and 2 external EHDs) because my laptop doesn't really hold anything that's irreplaceable - all my scrapbooking supplies and designs are on an EHD that I move back and forth between the two computers when necessary (and that EHD is backed up nightly to Mozy).

I use Carbonite but I only use my EHDs for back up. Whatever system you pick, it takes forever to do the first back up (weeks) but then its fast at keeping up after.

I have lots to say on this! I'm very much against mozy. I need to get on another computer that has all the stuff I've written about this & I'll share

Crashplan is recommended by users from another forum - I've looked at the site and am considering it - they do backup from EHD (I think!) worth checking out.

yeah, that is my problem too.

I have a MyBook, but that stopped working, so I went to Carbonite, but my portable ehd isn't recognized. Gary got a 2 TB hard drive for Xmas, so we are setting up the network so that I can have a tiny bit of his space to back up the 250 mb ehd. I think there should be plenty of room for that.

Wow! I really need to get on this bandwagon and get some online backup/storage...I've got too many fun memories in pictures on the external hard-drive.

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see what others have to say! ;)
