That's weird, Mozy always backed up my EHD. But I switched from them when they went to their tiered pricing plan because my back-up size was going to cost me $200 a month.
I use CrashPlan now and LOVE them. Can't say enough how much I love them, and can't count how many times they've saved my bacon. The software lets me back up to their online servers and then also to another EHD on my computer so I have an on-site copy. So when my little portable EHD failed I didn't have to wait to download it off the CrashPlan server, I just restored from my on-site backup on another EHD here on my computer. Took about 20 minutes and it was done.
It also does "versioning" so it saves versions of each file, so if I mess something up on a file I can go back and download yesterday's version - or last month's version. I've done that a few times. Like one of the template files I use to do ads/graphics for my new releases, I accidentally flattened and shrunk the original and saved it that way. Didn't realize until a month later when I opened it up again. On a whim I just went into my CrashPlan account to find the last version saved before that date and it restored it right away. The software encrypts and compresses the back-ups. I have a 2TB EHD that only holds my CrashPlan backups and it can hold all these versions and still only take up a small footprint on the actual drive. I back up my 2 internal drives and my one portable drive automatically every night and it all fits in the space of about 500GB on that 2TB drive.
In love love love.
