Starting a new thread to post our healthy moving/activity.

Today - 2 miles 31 minutes and 240 calories burned on the treadmill!

Any activity counts, lets hear how you were kind to your heart today!

You rock laurie!!! I was actually thinking about doing this!!!!!!

Today my goal is to simply get the office cleaned and treadmill put together! I have a feeling that's going to take all day as soon as my treadmill arrives!!

i ran out to the mailbox this morning haha and ran back lmfao...and did it again when i had to go get the mail (mailbox isn't that close t the house btw)

I walked around our fine arts museum with mr gorgeous at lunch time! It burns more calories when it's romantic! And we will be purchasing a treadmill...or an elliptical machine in the next few weeks, so I'll be a little more present in this thread!!

Great idea Laurie....can't wait until I can walk further....hopefully this weekend. Its been a long fortnight!

So, does 3 hours of house cleaning count? I vacuumed, mopped and scrubbed the floors/cabinets for MIL.
My body hurts if that means anything LOL

How far is that mailbox? LOL

I count those little things - like when the weather is nice (not this freaking cold stuff) I park as far away as I can from the stores. When I go grocery shopping I walk up and down every aisle. It might not make a huge difference, but it probably adds up tp more than I think.

about 25 minutes on the treadmill in the last 24 hours, plus putting the massive thing together by myself!!!

I've been trying to do my stretches every day too, not just for working out. I need to get back into doing my ab stretches for my back every morning and night, to make sure the impact of the treadmill doesn't upset my back.

Food wise, I'm really surprised at how well I'm doing. I think the difference between doing it myself and a program like Jenny, is that I'm able to make what I like and what doesn't upset my system. It doesn't tempt me to cheat having that control! Definitely loving the Hungry Girl books & her recipes online. I've already done a few twists on them, so I'll share them on the bloggy with my lifestyle journaling scrap LOs.

Gotta run, I've got blanched almonds roasting in the oven that need to be stirred!

I did 1 hr 30 min of ballroom dancing today, plus basement cleanup/sorting. Off to visit my friend tomorrow- that will mean shopping!

great job ladies!!!

Friday i did 4 hours of cleaning (mopping, vacuuming, dusting, tubs the whole deal). The house is BIG- 5 BRs, 2.5 baths, so lots of moving around.

yesterday I didn't get anything done, but maybe today I'll squeeze in a few min's. I am wiped out. It was along week, and yesterday was a long day. So i have to balance recuperating with everything else.

Meg- can't wait for you to blog about the HG recipes! Make sure you link us up :)

Oh I definitely will link you up!!!!!

Today I did about five minutes of warm up stretching, fifteen minutes power walking/jogging, then about ten minutes of finishing with stretches to make sure my lower back is all in place and happy. My back feels fine so far, but I've decided to take things slower than planned because I am worried I'm going to screw it up again. I want to do what I did when I was in physical therapy, and do my ab and lower back stretches for about twenty minutes before working out.

Ugh well I'm starting to hit my PMS-days, so I'll be surprised if I can do much over the next few days.

Oh Meg- I had that last week- PMS, aches, bad moods, and exhaustion. It does make it sooo much harder.

I am 42, had my tubes tied when I was 31. Why the heck do i still need all of the monthly crap??? I wish there was some way to safely do away with all of it.
:blah:

But score one for the mOvers!
You got me on wii fit this morning. I was not in any mood- already making up a ton of excuses why i couldn't/wouldn't/shouldn't. but i did it anyway and it was b/c of you!

16 min's of strength and yoga.

:cheer2:

Ummmm - I moved by shopping at IKEA and an outlet mall today- but will be back on the treadmill in the morning.

I SO need to do this.. Maybe I can dig our treadmill out of storage & just get moving. I set so many goals & then fail, but lately I've just been wanting to get moving more.

You all are an inspiration.

I saw one of the fitness pages I follow on facebook suggest a "fitness bank" where every day you DON'T want to get up and move and workout, you put a dollar in after you do get up and move that day! So, you're giving yourself a reward for getting up and going!

Today I didn't get on the treadmill, but I did hike around the lake back and forth a few miles today because I kept having to go out to wherever Jeff was fishing and back to the car. It was too windy for me to stay on the shore with him, but I kept having stuff to tell him LOL!

Monday is our "cheating" day for food, where we allow ourselves to eat out for lunch. We were still very wise in our choices, but did treat ourselves a bit :)

Do it girl!!!!! What's helping me is to scrap as I go, because I know if I stop scrapping it, there will be several on my case about it!!!!!

Elisa- set a small goal- how much movement you want to do each day and how many days in a row you want to do it, and give yourself a sticker on the calendar for each day you accomplish your goal. I think it really helps. Posting here too, because you know everyone is cheering you on.

I'm definitely not that brave. lol! I do think having someone else hold me accountable like that though could help. I guess I just need some system to actually get going & stick with it. I've always been out of shape & I just need to DO something! UGH!

today- 31 min and 234 calories- plus I am going to have you hold me accountable for food tracking- I can eat whatever- just need to be sure to track it- will be stopping at the grocery on my way home because no veggies and fruits is killing me- really can't believe I am saying this, but I miss them!

Good for getting out and about yesterday :)
