Winter Storm Elliott landed here in Michigan last night. Right now it is 9*F with wind chill of -12*. The bright side is that they are saying we probably won't get as much snow as originally forecast. The nonsense should settle down by tomorrow night.

I'm so glad I got all my errands done yesterday and that my daughter's flight home from Texas was Wednesday night, and she is safely in town.

How's your Christmas forecast looking?

I do hope our forecast is right, cuz it looks like PERFECT Christmas weather tomorrow (remember we celebrate on the Eve not the Day). It will be sunny and around -15°C. That's around 5°F. No snow ... but we have some left even though it's been a bit warmer.

But the weather is crazy. Temperature can vary with 10-20 degrees from day to day.

Glad your daughter's flight made it in from Texas Angie! We're in the deep freeze here, too, (OK) but it's going to start warming up in a couple of days. It's supposed to be 34 on Christmas Day, but back up in the 50's and 60's by the middle of next week.

Our thermometer this morning said 0.2 F and right now it says 0.0! The wind is strong and blowing around the small amount of snow we got. We too are glad we got our errands done Wednesday. This is NE Ohio.

yesterday it didnt get above zero, right now it i s 6°F and way below zero with windchill factor

Oh my! Just saw a clip from the news about the weather in US & Canada! I do hope you all are ok, that you have electricity, and are cozing inside with lots of food and friends/family to keep you happy.

It's fine here, the forecast I mentioned above, turned out to be accurate. I have quite a bit of last minute cooking to do today, but soon, I can relax and just enjoy the calm of the day. Just said to Urban, this is the quietest day of the year.

we are "singing" in the rain and expect up to 59 F today ... again no white christmas ...

It's freaking COLD!!
It was a very unusual high of 52* yesterday around noon. Two hours later it was 21* and then 2 hours after that, it was in the single digits. Current: 2*F with wind chills well below zero.
Thankfully, the snow squalls we got didn't really stick to more than the grass. The wind knocked a tree into the street next door but there were no cars parked there for once. And we have power *knocks wood* although there are people in town that don't.

All in all, I hate it because I hate the cold but I am so very, very grateful that is all I am dealign with

Isn't it crazy how widely the temperatures can swing from cold to warm and back again!
