Okay my friends with Lightroom....

Have any of you reinstalled your program to a new computer??

If so...how did you move your presets that you have installed???

Can you put them in a folder and move them that way???

Yes! Well, on a Mac you can. I just copied the folder from one computer to the other then pasted in in the correct place on computer 2. Make sure LR is closed before doing so, then when you open up again, the presets should all be there.

That's way I do it as well! I even do that when I am going to a new version of Elements, I simply make a copy of my Actions folders, Element Catalogues and the like and put them in a temporary folder. After installing the new version I copy across the files the appropriate folders! works like a charm and saves plenty of time installing everything again!

Ona, what exactly are you meaning, please, with the term 'elements catalog'?

I'm probably going with PSE 10 when it hits our Costco stores in Oct. It's the dreaded transfer and installation of such things as actions, & styles that often has me put off and put off the actual installation of a newly purchased software. I'm really bad that way. I AM on a Mac.

I know the feeling - I upgraded from PSE4 Mac to PSE8 Mac 18 mths ago and it was a NIGHTMARE - not just the new and really clunky system with actions & styles but the changes to the Bridge keywords - these were totally bxxxxxxd and took months & months to fix. ARGHHHHHHHHH I very nearly de-installed and went back to V4.

Have decided I'm not making to move to PSE10 - not enough changes to warrant whatever horrors Bridge might throw at me again.

Maureen, I use the Organiser catalogues in the Elements program to catalogue my digiscrapping stuff. I have a catalogue for each store/site with the designers and their goodies in there. I have a sneaking suspicion though that as a Mac user you can't use the catalogues?? correct me if I am wrong though, but I think that is why Selena went with Bridge to catalogue her stuff?? Selena?

Maureen if you find you can use the Organiser in Elements I would be happy to share more info about how to set it up etc. I love it and would be lost without it!
