Well, ladies, it seems I've really done it now. I had to send my computer away for repairs last week, and I thought I was being smart in moving all of my "essentials" to an external hard drive, just in case they had to do something drastic and reformat my harddrive or something equally frightening.

I got my computer back on Monday and it is SUPER fast and working awesome. So, I plugged in my EHD to whip out some layouts (as the ladies that were in the chatroom last Saturday REALLY got my creative juices flowing) - and ALL of my digital scrapbooking products are GONE. Absolutely GONE. I don't know what happened, other than some crazy glitch while I was moving files around.

The only saving grace in this is that my photos are all fine, as are my finished layouts (thank goodness, as I hadn't even printed some yet).

This pretty much sums it up:

OH NO!!!! How absolutely awful for you. I'm so sorry to read this. Would the repair people be any help in trying to work out what's up with the EHD?

Sadly, no. With their help, I was able to get the layouts and the photos back, which is wonderful. But, it is completely overwhelming to think of starting over from scratch. There is no way I'd ever remember all of the places I collected my "stash" from. :(
 
Oh, no, that is just awful. It's great you got your photos though. They are truly irreplaceable.

Oh no.... that is heartbreaking. I know- it is not any consolation, but maybe a teeny one.... that you have the photos, those are what is truly irreplaceable.

Maybe you have the zips stored somewhere??
 
Ohhh this is just so very sad for you!!! I don't know what I would do if I lost all my stash :Cry: for you and :pray: that somehow you get them back!
 
I feel for you - I lost files in an EHD failure earlier this year. As far as stores that you have purchased,you can check your history and see how they might help you with resetting downloads.
 
I do know that some stores have all your orders saved & you can still download. At the ones where they just give you a certain number of days to download, you can sometimes ask the storeowners to reset the links, if you remember some of the places you've shopped.

Glad you could save your photos though!
 
Oh sweetie........(((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) I am so sorry this happened to you!!!! I hope you can recover at least some of what you lost!
 
Stef - Here at the O they let you download everything you've ever ordered again and again. Which is absolutely stupendous. For some of the ones that I've loved and lost, I've contacted store owners who have been truly awesome in reactivating the links for a short period of time for me. It's a pain I know. And that probably won't get you back everything, but it's a start!!
 
oh no Stef!! what a horrible thing to have happened!!! so sorry that you lost all your stash!!! but like the girls have said, just contact the stores you know you have gone to lately and try to download again.
