He in the army and he is going on a mission to Lithuania. We will bring him to the airport coming Monday. He not going to a dangerous place, but still, he is a lot closer to Ukraine. It's the first time he is going away for so long. I know kids leave home at a certain age, my daughter did, but then they still comes home or we visit them.
This feels different. We are not allowed to call him. We will have to wait untill he calls us. I don't know how much phone time he has, and of course he will also talk to his girlfriend in that time. Also he is not much of a talker, and phonecalls are not favorite to him.
I'm proud of him, but I don't like him going away fo so long.

I feel your pain Janette! My son and DIL are both in the military and although they have never really gone anywhere dangerous, it is the unknown that is so frustrating! I am happy now that they are both officers and most likely will not get deployed to a war zone, but there is that nagging feeling of what if!! Sending you lots of hugs and well wishes for your son to be safe and for him to be able to contact you many times!! :hanging: Hang in there the 3 & 1/2 months will hopefully fly by!:airplane:

Oh Jeanette. This will be so hard. I appreciate his service but I know how hard that will be. I am worried about Sydney being gone for 6 weeks and she can call me. I really wish you the best. Thanks for the noble words orl he does. And always know that we are here to listen if you need us.

I am so glad that we now have the Care button because I don't want to "Like" this at all.
Good thoughts to you and your DS, I hope that the time goes by very fast and that he calls often.

It's so hard not to worry! My oldest daughter went to southeast Asia for 3 months right before the pandemic and didn't use her phone much, mostly due to the cost. She was able to put an occasional post on FB or Instagram so that helped. He'll be home before you know it!

Jeannette, I would be worried too, I wouldn't want my kids to be so far away! You are one strong Momma :heartpumpred: I hope that you get a phonecall soon and often! :beatingheart:
