May Art Journaling Challenge ~ Week 4 {FORTITUDE}

Can you believe that this is the final week for May Art Journaling? This month's challenge snuck up on me. Well, what doesn't kill me makes me stronger or so I like to tell myself. I haven't died yet so that is my story, and I am sticking to it.
As you went through each of the challenges this month, did you get any sense of impostor syndrome? As in that little voice telling you,"HA! You think you have fortitude, but you don't." And then, that little voice laughs tauntingly at you. If you haven't had that voice in your head, you are lucky but I think it is pretty common to feel that way.
This week, my question for you to think about is this: How do you get that annoying voice to shut up? Can you simply ignore it (and if you can, can you give me your secret on how ya do it)? Do you put on music to get out of that mental loop, do you have A Fight Song? As for me, I talk back to myself, often loudly. Nothing like a pep talk to yourself while your family thinks youlost your mind again.

For this week's challenge, I would like you to think about what you would say to yourself to boost your confidence and fortitude. It could be something you tell yourself in your own voice, lyrics, or a quote. When you add that to your page, make it bold. Literally! Use a large, dark font or just bold parts of the journaling/word art.
Reinforce that strong, courageous spirit I know is inside of you!

You can choose to do a single page, double page, tag, TN each week, or use a divided template—one part for each week. If you don’t have the Divided Template and would like to have it, you can get it here at Dropbox. Thank you to Ona @wombat146 for providing the template choices for us! If you use the template, we would love it if you post incrementally: post one done in the first week, post an image of the two together on the second, and so on until the finished page in the fourth week.

Again—the template is NEVER a requirement, just something fun and different if you want to use it.

Challenge Rules:
  • You have until 11:59 p.m. CST on May 31 to complete your pages for this challenge.
  • To qualify for the drawing, you need to use 80% Oscraps products that are currently in the store (non-Oscraps products or retired O designer products can be used whether the designer is selling elsewhere or not).
  • You need to credit all the products used on your page.
  • You cannot use a page you create for this challenge for another Oscraps challenge.
  • Upload your page to the Art Journal Gallery and then add your layout to the challenge thread. (Below you will find instructions on adding your page to this thread.)
Adding a linked layout from the Gallery to a thread:
  • Upload your layout to the gallery first. In your forum post, click the Gallery Embed icon (little camera).
  • This will open your gallery; simply click on the layout you require, then scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click the Continue button.
  • Your linked layout is now in your post; the image will appear once you have clicked the Post Reply button.
Everyone who participates in any of this month's challenges will be entered into a drawing for a $5 gift certificate to Oscraps. You can receive up to four entries into this month's drawing.

Week 4
Time has passed and my Phoenix has risen fully - strong in spirit knowing that I have come through the storm and can weather what the future brings. Life will have both good and bad but I know that I can find the fortitude to accept what my life is - to find a way to live with the challenges and look for those moments of happiness. And I know that my husband's spirit will always be with me.

Here's mine. I feel very accomplished completing all four weeks! First time ever!
For this week, using the same song as the other weeks, I focused on the last part of the verse.
I used the same elements as were used in the other weeks, partly for continuity but also to show this part of the song as the crescendo and pulling all parts together. Thank you all for the encouragement and inspiration.

Well, Chris, @faerywings I had to dig deep for this one. I was pretty "baffled" until you asked if we had a "fight song". Yes, I DO and it had faded into my memory, as the song came out in 1998. But, that sparked my creativity and the lyrics to the chorus are in my credits in the gallery. Here's what I came up with.
