Last week, a member of a local neighborhood group I belong to posed the question: "Do you make your bed every day?" She claimed that in 53 years, she had only NOT made her bed perhaps 5 times. That got me thinking about my own habits. I have gone through periods where I faithfully made my bed every morning, and have also had plenty of times where I was just "meh".
I fully subscribe to the theory that if you make you bed in the morning, no matter how badly the rest of your day goes, at least you accomplished that one thing. That perspective is laid out in a rather well-known commencement speech by Adm. William H. McRaven of the US Navy. Here's a You Tube link to that part of his speech:
Having said that, did I make my bed this morning? No. Yesterday? No. The day before? Yes. Tomorrow? Probably.
How about you?
