JUNE PROJECTS - has anyone got anything to share??

I've never tried mixed media journaling, but several years ago I was inspired by an incredible sketch artist, Andrea Joseph of Derbyshire, UK, to do sketch journaling. I've been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil in my chubby little hand, so sketch journaling seemed more suited for me. This first page, which I call Lady Justice, hasn't been finished, but hopefully, with all the inspiration here, I'll do that soon. The subject of my page is an old historic courthouse in a small town where I once lived. It now houses the county library and a history museum. I took a lot of photos there and used to climb the 107 steps for my morning exercise. Lady Justice stands atop the dome, but my drawing came from one of my photos and she barely shows up, so I decided to highlight her to the right with arrows. I have yet to fill in the section on the left (I'm thinking poppies as the gardens there are beautiful) and then finish it by filling in the red date box, and adding more journaling to most of the remaining white areas.
Here's an art doll I was doodling around with. I've been checking out the art of Toni Burt lately and think I might want to incorporate my art dolls into pages similar to what she creates. Since I have severe MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivities) and can't use a lot of the mixed media products, I'm thinking of drawing my dolls, then putting them into digital mixed media pages. We have so many incredible mixed media products in our store here at the O, and digital scrapbooking is really where my heart is, so it seems right for me.
I use a variety of art products; Micron pens, uniPins, STA pigment liners, Artistro pens, Posca pens, Jane Davenport products, Prismacolor colored pencils, Derwent Inktense pencils, Apple Barrel and FolkArt paint, Blick Acrylics and others, but these are the ones I can see in my supply closet at the moment.

wow!! Betty Jo, I can not draw to save myself and these are so brilliant!!! I totally understand about the chemical sensitivities, there are certain fixatives etc that I can't use in my work either. Toni is an Aussie artist and I love her work and have done a couple of classes with her. She is so down to earth and explains things so well, love her art as well! I think drawing and scanning beautiful pictures like the ones above would look amazing in a digital page!!
Thanks, Ona. I didn't realize Toni is an Aussie artist. That's super! Her work is incredible. I love her mixed media creations and her pottery is soooo gorgeous.
I SO love that everyone is sharing their art!! I've been happy to spend some time in my little studio this month. Jana Holden and I recently did a marathon — 5 1/2 hours — FB Messenger Video arting session.. We each worked on our own projects, and got TONS done!

Another two pager - the sketches are my "wonky women" which are goofy line drawings I've had to resort to because I can't draw a realistic face — at least without noses that look like male body parts. Lol.

Love your wonky women sketches too!! did you draw/paint the botanicals in the background for this?? and the background for your first two pager, the pinky one, is painted or from one of your kits or...????

WOW, WOW, WOW !! Ladies these are all so amazing!! I want to try each and every one of these projects! @Vicki Robinson and @Rachel Jefferies I want to print off all of your gorgeous creations and work with them! @ClaireG I just adore your batman card!! @scrap-genie such stunning work as always! @Betty Jo wish I could doodle the way you do! Those are all fabulous works of art! @wombat146 Girl you are way too talented!! Amazing creations! Here is what I worked on this month but have started another project that hopefully will be completed by July.
Y'all are SO talented!! You tempting me to do some of this again. I really don't have much room since we downsized and I lost ALL of my paints, brushes, gessos, all of my stencils, etc. in our last move! LOTS of money went down the drain! I DO still have my markers and some Mod Podge, so I guess that's a start.
@taxed4ever Trudy, your cards are incredible! I think my fave might be the kitty and gorgeous tree, Just For You. It would be hard to chose, they are all so amazing. ♥

Oh never ever get rid of all of your wonderful Art stash!! Even if it doesn't get brought out into the light for years!! I'd never intentionally get rid of mine, either. I THOUGHT I had everything packed up but I love a lot of my stuff. I packed everything art-wise myself so I know it got packed - we had a lot of weird things happen and had to store a lot of stuff and some of my stuff has never surfaced. My DD and GD are missing stuff, too. We suspect the guys put a lot of it in the old barn, but it's a massive pile of stuff that none of us have felt like tackling. We keep saying one day we will. @taxed4ever Trudy, I had a quick look at your lovely cards before I headed off to bed last night (early this morning! lol!!), they are absolutely amazing!! I love the green wooded card with the birds flying, it looks so calm and serene and the very last one is a treasure, that tree is so stunning and the colours are gorgeous!!! However, I would be super thrilled to receive any of these, they are all super creative girl!!!! #kiss3

I did this at the end of June..... I used a die cut to cut my tag and tag layer, the rainbow and the circles.
For the rainbows, before I die cut them I created the watercolor look on my paper. To create the watercolor look for my rainbows, I used a gelli plate and stamped inks in a row across the gelli plate. Each color had it’s own row. I then layered die cuts pattern onto the plated stamped ink . Once I had the die cuts placed the way I wanted them, I place my paper on the inked gelli plate and gently patted the paper to help transfer the ink. ****Note the mini purple rainbow was "painted" by applying the ink with a brush and mixing my stamp ink with a little bit of water***. I used a die cut out the rainbows after the ink dried.
For my water color background on the tag layer, I repeated the gelli plate stamping and this time after I stamped each row of color, I added a little water to each row to help create a watercolor effect. Prior to transferring the ink to my paper, I took my paper and applied water to it as well and then pressed it down on the gelli plate to transfer the ink. Once the ink dried, I did my die cut.
I used a stencil to create the floral pattern layered underneath the rainbows. I applied gesso with my fingers in a couple of areas. I discovered that allows for better control in my opinion. I used a stamp to create the grunge on the left side of the tag layer. I used a derwent water color pencil to create my black artsy marks. I used a white Posca Pend to create my white art marks (look at the dashed in the top left of the tag layer). I did some machine stitching in black thread--straight and zig zagged.

This project is an old one, but I wanted to show Amanda @Amandajk a layout I created from an art journal spread I photographed and used in a layout. Amanda, hope you will share some of your fabulous work here as well!

I make cards but they are digital plus I usually add some kinda bling after printing...But not anything like the wonderful! creations showcased here......
