Welcome to the wrap-up for June's Art Journaling challenge. Susie, Cheryl, and Vicky had such amazing themes, mood boards, and quotes for the entire month. While I love doing the final week wrap-ups, they are a very hard act to follow. But that is ok because this month, I feel Rested & Peaceful within myself and I hope that you do too.
Since this is a wrap-up, we will be looking at our pages we created from the first three weeks of the month. If you haven't scrapped a page yet for June, that's not a problem. You can look at some of the other amazing pages in the Art Journal Gallery and get some inspiration from them. You can also read through the wonderful intros to the first three challenges posted by the AJ Team. As you look at the pages or read some of the quotes, I'd like you to slow your breathing. Read the words and view the pages with calm intention. Gently hold that sense of peace within you that often seems so elusive.
Now, come back to the present and engage that artistic part of your mind.
This last challenge is to scrap a page using colors that enhance your sense of peace.
You can create a brand new page using a soft, neutral palette. Or perhaps you want to redo one of your previous LOs by desaturating the elements. Shapes, edges, fonts, and shadows- make them as soft as you can. If that seems difficult, go back to the AJ Gallery and breathe in the artsy goodness. Take a few more deep breaths and wrap yourself in that restful sensation.
Here is my page:
I used the green floral paper as an overlay, blended using Soft Light, and layered some stamps between the papers. I used lighter colored/white floral bits and desaturated the pink mat slightly.
Here are all four weeks put together:
You can choose to do a single page, double page, tag, TN each week, or use a divided template—one part for each week. If you don’t have the Divided Template and would like to have it, you can get it here at Dropbox. Thank you to Ona @wombat146 for providing the template choices for us! If you use the template, we would love it if you post incrementally: post one done in the first week, post an image of the two together on the second, and so on until the finished page in the fourth week.
Again—the template is NEVER a requirement, just something fun and different if you want to use it.
Challenge Rules:
We look forward to seeing your art journaling pages!
