Ice Breaker: Daylight Saving Time- Yay or Nay?

Daylight Saving Time Ends Tomorrow. The good news is, we get an hour of sleep tonight. The bad news is, tomorrow night we'll be feeling sleepy 2 hours before our bedtime.

How does time change affect you? Do you like switching back and forth or would you rather keep it the same all year? You may not think this is a story worth telling but if daylight savings time went away, it's one of the many things our children and grandchildren wouldn't experience in their own life.

I know that your answers will be impacted if you have children or pets. Will you be greeted extra early by kids who want breakfast at 5 am? Or do you have pets that understand time change about as good as a toddler? My dogs "remind" me it is time to eat by pawing at me incessantly and then running around the living room with a bowl in their mouths. Try chasing after hungry dogs in the dark who don't understand that I can't put food in their bowls while they are still in their mouths!
I don't have as much issue with body-clock schedules since I would have to have one in order for it to get messed up LOL
I do have issues with it being dark at dinnertime. It makes me exhausted as soon as the sun goes down. I would prefer for DST to stay year-round. Even if the days are shorter either way, I would rather have any extra daylight at the end of the day.

I’m with you — its dark here in CA by 5 pm and I hate it. Messes with my head. I think it’s an idea that has outlived its usefulnes, especially since not all States utilize it.

I have never liked it. It seems like you just begin to acclimate, then it's changing. I am very sensitive to sleep habits for some reason and it really is noticeable .I think the early darkness, slows me down and I call it a day too early.Since it is not universal it can be confusing.

It doesn't really affect me but I hate when the sun comes out super early lol so whenever the time change makes that happen it's a big NO!

I'd prefer to stay on DST year round, I'd rather have the daylight at night than in the morning. I have a 5 year old so she'll be up at the butt crack of dawn wanting to play, and eat. We might throw her a bowl of cereal and the ipad and see if she'll leave us alone for an hour lol I find the best way to get through it is to stay up to my usual time on the day of the change, even if it feels like it's gonna kill us lol

I'd prefer DST all year....It doesn't bother me for me... it just makes everybody else in the house out of whack..... so... it then impacts me in that manner. LOL. My daughter may be on time for a couple of days now.

Well, ladies, I am taking this as an unofficial vote and since the "Keep DST" seems to be more popular, I say we should do it. Forget about Standard Time and do our own thing!
