Hi Ladies,
Yesterday I was baking this lovely ginger cake for all my elf buddies en look what happened

Please help me!
What did I do wrong?
I don't understand what happened, but I can't present this to the other elfs.
They will all laugh at me

did you open the oven too soon to peek at it before it was ready? Cooling of the cake before it's cooked can cause it to sink in the middle.

That's what I'd do Buddy - just smother it in whipped cream and chocolate.

Or just hit it with your rolling pin/crumble it up, throw it in a big punch bowl or cute drinking glasses with some berries & custard (& jello kind of jelly (or actual jelly/jam would work too) & call it a trifle. Either way, hope it tastes ok!

NO!!!!! turn it into a fancy dessert!!!!! I think you cooled the cake (or peeked) before it was done. But all is not lost. Cut it into cubes. Make a decadent cream filling. Layer. Cubes of cake, whipped cream (home made thick not store bought), chocolate chips, dried cherries if you like, repeat all layers ending with a drizzle of melted chocolate. Looks like you did it on purpose. No one will ever know you messed up. Its beautiful in a glass bowl with all those layers.
