I just got a new stove that has a regular oven, a convection oven and is also an air fryer. Does anyone have any advice for using a convection oven or an air fryer oven? I've never used those but have used a portable small air fryer. I'd appreciate any help. I know things back differently but wanted to try the convection oven.

My DIL had a convection oven. Seems like it doesn't take as long and cooks more evenly. But I have no experience.

I know what you mean! I've heard it bakes differently and I want to try it but don't want to burn anything!

I find that whatever time the recipe calls for, you can usually reduce that by a few minutes i.e. if recipe is 15 min I start checking at 11-12 min and if something is 30 min then I check at 20 min. The air fryer you are familiar with already so you probably know that things get a bit more crispy on the outside and softer on the inside. It's perfect for fries, breaded meats and veggies, pizza and garlic bread.

How WONDERFUL!!!!! I have a convection oven on my wishlist! Friends say that it saves a lot of time, but also the "cook" (I guess it is really bake, lol) is so much better- things don't dry out. Can't wait to hear your experience and see a page about it!

I'd love to know how the oven air fryer compares to a regular air fryer. I want one of those multi-function ovens for my next oven but only if I don't end up wanting a separate air fryer.

I used to have a convection oven and loved it. I find I actually burn things more without it because the cook isn't as even. My next oven will have it again :)

Thank you so much for the tips, Rae! I used the air fryer feature last night to make Salmon filets. They turned out well. I did used two different pans but think one of them was too deep and they didn't brown as much on that sheet. I have ordered a basket and try made to oven air fry.

You may be a nerd, but if so I am a green-with-envy-nerd! I need a new stove so bad!
Eva, my last stove was free from the company my husband works for. It was a wonderful oven but was not self cleaning. I am asthmatic and hated having to use sprays to clean the oven. Even those that said fume free had fumes and I hated those chemicals in my house. The last time my husband saw me half in the stove (I am 5 ft tall) trying to scrub the stove, he checked on getting another stove for me. We did have to pay for this one but got it at a fraction of what they sell for. It was a true answer to prayer! I was happy then to be able to find a young woman who really needed my old stove ( it was only a few years old} and she was thrilled to get a free stove!

It is wonderful! It can be a regular oven, an air fryer and a convection oven. I was so happy to give my big countertop air fryer to my daughter. This gave me lots of room to rearrange my pots and pans! Oh, the things that make a housewife happy!

Thank you so much, Amanda! I found an air fryer cookbook yesterday at a used book store so I used the air fryer last night. I ordered a convection oven cookbook a few days ago and am anxious to get it to try out the convection oven!

I used the air fryer yesterday to make salmon filets and they turned out great! I was so happy to get rid of my bulky countertop air fryer to have more room in my cabinet! I think you would love it!

Oh, Vicki, that is good to know! I thought things would burn more in a convection oven. I ordered a convection oven cookbook which should come soon. I am anxious to try out the convection oven feature.
