In the Netherlands we are not used to hot temperatures. But the last few years we did have some heat waves. This year I feel it is hotter then ever before. Temperatures are rising far above 30 degrees ( above 86 Fahrenheit) and the humility is always rather high here.

I can't stand the heath too well, but this year, for the first time I have a rash. A heat rash. I'm allergic to the heath. I have spots all over my body and they itch awful. We come home from our short vacation early, because I couldn't stand the heat any longer. At home we have a small pool, so I can cool down a bit.

I always long for Summer, because it's a wonderful period. Vacation with hubby and the kids. Enjoying time outdoors, enjoying nature and enjoying all the beauty life gives us. Right now I long for Fall. Lower temperatures. No rash. No itching.

It's never been so hot in the Netherlands. I seriously don't like climat change!

Oops Jeannette ... that's absolutely not fun ... hopefully you have medication for the itching and it will soon be better ...

It's extreme now ... an air conditioner would be welcome in such weather ...
I heard the weather forecast this afternoon and for the following days it will remain warm and heavy thunderstorms ... strong wind, high chance of hail up to 4cm ...

I like the warm, but too much is too much ... we only have a small garden and little shade ... looking for coolness elsewhere or staying indoors is the message and drink a lot ... water ...

oh, heat rash is just miserable! I'm sorry to hear that.



I absolutely love the hot, hot days of summer but pretty much everywhere in Oklahoma has air conditioning.

Vicki, did you know we're moving to Oklahoma in 2 weeks? Cherokee County, right by Lake Tenkiller.

That's not fun Jeanette! I know how it feels! I have that too sometimes! For me pure aloe vera helps ( a good one)! And yes I am happy for less heat too! I can't stand the hot sticky nights either! We have to change our homes and gardens I think! This becomes more and more normal and standard in the summers!

I have a rash too but I think that's a sun allergy..I'm glad the itching is not all too bad

Apple cider vinegar is also good to make a splash for itchy skin. I dab it on poison ivy blisters to dry them up and keep them from itching too badly. Corn starch - right from the box- is a good one too. During and after my radiation Tx, that was a big help to my skin.

Unfortunately, it seems like the extreme heat is going to continue to be an issue for a long time :(

I hope the weather cools for you soon and the rash goes having a heat rash is very unpleasant Jeanette try cold compresses it may help.

I hate summers!! (Don't hate me, Chris & Vicki!) We have been warm this summer but not extreme. Our temps are now in the high 70s and low 80s so I'm easier to get along with. :)

Jeannette, I'm glad the rash is improving and hope it cools for all of you soon. I cannot wait for Fall and Winter!!!
