How do I smooth out pimples in PSE

I have a co-workers photo and I know how to use the spot healing brush to take the date off. She would like the bumps on her son's face smoothed out. What tools do I use for that?

One of things I was told once was to use a very soft brush set at a low opacity and spot select the color from the skin close to the blemish. The opacity helps to lessen it looking like a paint streak. But I'm sure there are more talented and experienced editors that can help you.
