Hello everyone!!!

I think I have an introduction thread buried somewhere of the time I first came here but I thought it's been way too long and it doesn't hurt waving hello again for the occasion, so here I am!

My name is Virginie but all my friends call me Nini. I'm French, usually I live in Japan with my Korean husband but we came to France for hubby's studies last September and we have still 6 months to enjoy family, friends and France.

I have the great chance to be guesting at the O since yesterday and I hope you'll like what I will cook for you. See you around!

Woot!!

I know you've been here a while really, Nini!

But I never knew Nini was short for Virginie. My daughter's name is Virginia, Ginny for short, and we very nearly called her Virginie with the French pronunciation (which would have pleased my French aunt & cousins greatly) but realised no one here in the UK would ever pronounce it correctly, so we stuck with the English version.

Oh it would never be worse than Japanese people pronouncing it! That's why 1 day after I first arrived in Japan I gave up on introducing myself as Virginie but only used Nini :yo: At some point, my friends who didn't know anything else, didn't understand where my name was written when I showed them my first job business card
