Hi all,

Been lurking a while but thought it was time to introduce myself properly!

I'm Jude, sahm of two little girls and I live in the east of England. I'm a self-certified digiscrapaholic!

Are you stuck in the snow? LOL I'm not, nahnahnahnah teehee

Welcome hOme Jude :)

Hey Jude, welcome to the O. Are you in East Anglia? Coldest place in the world - at least it was when I was at college there.

We're no longer snow bound either Cat, but I believe us in the south are sending it your way!

Hi, thanks for all the welcomes!

Lol, Cat! No, the snow is now almost melted leaving the only the occasional patch of annoying slipperiness. Which my daughters HAVE to fall over on of course...

I'm in north Essex, Selena (which is East Anglia depending on who you ask!) - where did you go to college? I went to UEA in Norwich and we certainly felt the icy blasts off the North Sea then. Having no heating didn't help, either :-)

I'm familiar with that feeling! The heating issue as well as the weather.

I was at CCAT - Cambridge Tech - about a million years ago (no rude comments about my excessive age needed, thanks, Cat - !). My husband went to UEA (also a million years ago) so we're both familiar with Arctic winds and driving rain. My house in Cambridge was below sea level so everytime it rained a bit hard, the ruddy thing flooded. Ahhh, student days! Now I'm a grown up I find I still have to contend with freezing temp, arctic winds and ungritted roads, and I live in the middle of London where in theory everything should be possible, so God help the rest of you. I know, I know, Cat, you guys actually understand how to do snow - us nambi Southerners are hopeless at it.

Back to topic - do join in with the challenges, Jude. They're really good fun and the designers are so generous with their give aways. Check out Nina's giveaway going on here https://ozone.oscraps.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11226 which is going on right now and watch the forum for news of others coming up (*hint* there's a big birthday party coming soon!).

PS: No - I'm not on the payroll!

Ha, you said it. I have been trying to figure out all week how on earth the London underground called snowed off, talk about bamboozling LOL, I didnt realise it snowed in tunnels!

And, its snowing her now, yay, its 11:15pm and the snow gritter went past our house

In defence of my corner of the south-east (ish) - our trains were fine (mostly)!

Apparently the problems on the underground were caused where the lines go overground in the suburbs ... cos they must have been taken by surprise by there being weather there

Enjoy the snow! I think we've had our winter now...

Jude

Actually, the real problem on Monday with the Underground was that London Transport staff couldn't get to work - because the bosses that be decided not to operate any buses. Can you believe this? And they call this the 21st Century.

We are now on Day 4 and admittedly we haven't had any more snow since Tuesday, but STILL our streets are ungritted. My elderly neighbour slipped and broke her hip yesterday and the ambulance took nearly half an hour to get here (we only live 1.5 miles from the hospital!!!).

There, rant over. Signed: Disgruntled of Shepherd's Bush.

Wow, Selena thats crazy, and I am sorry for your neighbour :(

WE HAVE A SNOW DAY WOOT!!!! our ploughs and gritters have been at it through the night, and we have one school closed, only because a sky light came through the roof.

Oh my word! Good job the kids weren't in.

London is now a boring mass of wet, dripping, sludgy grey yuckiness (yep, one of my DD's spellings this week). It's rained non stop all morning and the dogs are standing here with their legs crossed pleading with me. My kids had to go to school on the best snow day and sadly by Tuesday when they were off, it didn't look nearly as nice. And I only got really crappy pictures.

My mum, however, in west Wales where they never get snow, has 10 foot drifts of the stuff and can't get her horses out of their stables (I guess someone left the barn door open all night). Glad I'm not gonna have to ride them anytime soon!

See thats another thing, my horse is hard LOL, she is out in a field with a heavy weight rug on her. Mind you, it took a couple of years to get her used to our winters since she came from Surrey LOL

Hi everyone- I have to admit, I didn't think that the UK was so cold and snowy- sounds as bad as it is here in NJ!

But at least everyone is warm and cozy at the O!

Chris, may I suggest that you make a full european trip to check the weather everywhere ? :D
