Sitting at work with nothing to do, have my laptop and credit card......... Hello shopping!!! Almost done. Two more people to shop for and all done. Dinner for 12-24 planned and assigned tasks. 12-24 shirts arrived. Wine ordered. Just need to sit back and relax. Someone remind me how to do that please!!!
I used to LOVE to wrap presents. Lately, not so much - I "jazz" them up with cute tissue, tags and lots of ribbon on the handles.

I always loved it at a kid. And we throw the paper after gifts are opened for the dogs. Its a shredded mess when we're done and we laugh so much over the dogs "killin" the paper. Its a hoot and a mess. And NO ONE can peek LOL

My dogs like that too. It's to the point where if a piece of paper even looks like gift wrap they think it is for them LOL!

My biggest issue this year is that I don't know *what* to get anyone. Everyone says they don't need or want anything. Or they don't; have space to put anything. I've done every type of DIY gift imaginable. I give up!

Dinner out or special dinner that you make. Gift certificates for fun things like "clean the bathroom for you". Not purchased ones but ones you make. Special with things you know they would like but dont cost but time and love.

I did the dinner for my ILs a couple of years ago. I got them a basket of pasta and some cool bamboo wooden spoons with an invite to come here for dinner.
This one I already do all of the time!! Gah!! :rotfl:

Actually I picked up a few gifts today for my Grands and hope that our son has room in his suitcase to take them back with him. He is out for a quick visit and flies to his home on Sunday.
I'm so glad you had a visit from your son!

I actually finished all of my Christmas shopping before the end of October! lol I also have my two oldest kids' Birthdays on Dec. 12th & 15th, so I finished up the shopping for that, as well, except for getting a Walmart gift card for my son because he is extra difficult to buy for :giggle4: Wrapping will be the most difficult part...I usually put stuff in leftover food boxes like crackers, cereal, just so when they unwrap it they are like "HUH?!!" :rotfl:
I am amazed that you finished all your shopping and so early! You go girl! I love your idea about putting gifts in empty cracker boxes etc! How fun is that!!

I am so behind where I usually am by this time! I have a few little things, but I think the bulk of it will be done when I am staying in town for a few days about a week before Christmas . I need to make and order my usual calendar for my mum next week (I use favourite layouts I've made through the year)

Ugh, I am hoping to make my Christmas gifts this year, but not sure when that is going to happen. It's all cray cray here, new job learning curve plus I am prepping for a craft fair on 7th December, so there is a lot of sewing and crafting happening. Then Hubby and I are away and then it's Christmas.. New Year's gifts perhaps LOL

It's easy peasy for us this year. A few small gifts for each other and Jen. I need to get a secret santa gift for a party. I love the Xmas has become so easy and less stressful for us.

Oh Evelyn, what wonderful and encouraging words, thank you so much. I'm having fun picking things up for the kids and we have two new guys this year. Ava's engaged and Alyssa has a "serious for her" boyfriend. I'm determined to have a good Christmas this year. Last year wasn't very good. :(

:xmas2:xmas9: :xmas4:
So glad to hear this from you. I will follow your lead. Joy to the World is the theme, after all?! Joy isn't the same as happiness. Joy can bring tears, but always comfort. :heartpumpred: :hug1:

YES! I have the grands almost done, They are getting "Make" boxes. Well, at least the 2 younger ones are. They both are artistic. So the boxes will be filled with art supplies. Since we are doing Ancestry/Heritage albums for DS &DD, the theme will be Medieval - knights, dragons, castles. FUN. I just discovered an actual Knight in my lineage yesterday!!! How serendipitous!! GD is also getting a small child sized sewing machine. She will be over the moon! :xmas2
Oldest GS will probably get a Gab phone. Hubs- I have no idea yet... hahaha:D:D:D We are getting a huge TV on wednesday and hope to find an electric fireplace that will fit this tiny apt. So that may be the most of it. Christmas has become very different for me the last years. More internal than external. But I do enjoy the lights, and making cookies with the Grands. I will miss Dad too. And maybe Mom, if she doesn't hold out. Thankful for the memories.:heartpumpred::heartpumpred::heartpumppink:

It sounds like you have some wonderful gifts that had much thought put into them. I know your kids will love their heritage albums! It's awesome that you found a knight in your family tree! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and prayers that your Mama will be there with you!

THANKS, Evelyn. Mom is in Indiana, me in SC. She really isn't strong enough to handle company, so we are face-timing.

I am glad you will get to FaceTime with each other! What part of SC are you in? My SIL lives in Lexington, SC and we are having our family reunion in SC at Lake Murray.
