Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day, the day when everyone is a little bit Irish! I have to agree...while I am of 100% German descent, when the Riverdance phenomenon took the world by storm in the 1990's, my sisters and I fell in love with the Irish culture the show portrayed. We saw the stage show several times over the years, and the music introduced me to other Irish musical artists that I still listen to. I even toyed with trying to learn Gaelic. (that didn't go far, I don't have a brain for languages). When I was married my ex-DH would make the traditional corned beef and cabbage for dinner, and several communities in the Detroit area have parades.

Anyone else celebrating the day?

No we don't celebrate it here in Belgium, only the Irish people who live in Belgium

We aren't celebrating per se, but we are wearing green. We saw a whole bunch of people seriously dressed for it yesterday. I think there was some big event in OKC downtown restaurant/bar area.

I miss the good old days when I was a PreK teacher. I went all out on every holiday. Now, I don't celebrate a lot of them and St Patrick's Day is one of them. But I will make a corned beef and cabbage today. Yeah, a day late but it was the only time I had to do it. I don't eat any beef but the one time a year, I will eat corned beef. Wish my stomach good luck in digesting it

We don't celebrate St. Patrick because we have no Irish roots ... But I love the Irish Pub in Ghent ... good food and always lots of ambiance ...

hope all who celebrated had fun day - went to 2 parades this past weekend and last weekend went to a different one. there are so many parades where i live now
