@veer 's post the other day about how the news is so worrying these days got me thinking. Since we all live in different parts of the world, and we all read/watch different news resources, why don't we share some good news that we find?

Link to articles or video clips with HAPPY NEWS. We all know they are out there, they're just drowning in the negativity around them. But in this thread - only happy news!

{Keep this non-political/non-religious ... not every happy news in your eyes is happy news in other people's eyes. Keep that in mind.}

Singapore’s first giant panda cub born to Jia Jia and Kai Kai on 7th attempt

SINGAPORE — The nation welcomed its first giant panda cub at the River Safari on Saturday (Aug 14), after Jia Jia and Kai Kai finally succeeded in their seventh breeding season that began in April.

This is a fabulous idea!! This weekend was pretty brutal with regular AKA Bad news and I love to focus on some good stuff too.

I tend to not share the good stuff here, but I did tell my fam about a similar story at dinner a week or so ago.

I shared this with Scott the other day: Two New Dinosaurs Found
At the end of the article, it mentioned that nests and fossilized eggs were found earlier and that suggested there may be more nests in the area as well.

[They aren't Spinosaurus which is his favorite dinosaur but he thought that it's is a cool discovery anyway. He is also very *very* happy that the info didn't affect him like what happened last year with his research. He was preparing for his research project presentation that day when he woke up to find that it was just published overnight that the spinosaurus had a totally different tail than previously thought. He had to update his presentation that was being done over Zoom as his final exam before he graduated in < two hours. ]

Ok... Might be a stretcha to call this happy news, but at least it's fascination. A man found an ant hill in the woods that are 9"1 high (2,8 meters). They believe it's been there since the 1700s.

Article is only in Swedish, but if you look at the video you can see just how HUGE it is. Also: the interview is made in the sami language, so you get a chance to hear that. :)

Se gigantiska myrstacken i Gällivare – nästan tre meter hög

280 centimeter hög och tolv meter i omkrets. 91-årige Sören Andersson trodde knappt sina ögon när han hittade myrstacken i Gällivareskogen. Sameradion & SVT Sápmi har lokaliserat stacken som enligt forskare ska innehålla cirka 300 000 myror och härstamma från 1700-talet.

It is good news for NJ but not good news for New England. I am relieved that Hurricane Henri has moved further west so we won't get hit too badly, hopefully only heavy rain and nothing more.

Just saw this - hope you can see the video - this is fantastic. A woman was sitting isolated due to the pandemic & the fact that she had a disease (I'm not sure what it's called in English), and she started to crochet a table runner. On June 4th, she got her 2nd shot, and put down the hook. The table runner is 320 meter long - that's about 350 yards. You can see it in the video:

It only says that she had a box of yarn at home already, and decided to use it up. Maybe she's just a yarn hoarder like me, that has one closet & three cupboards full of yarn LOL

Well, I'm so happy, I even cried a bit. This is so HUGE ... Abba is releasing a new album in November. I remember when they won Eurovision back in 1974 with Waterloo.
