Has anyone dressed up for a Halloween party or activity yet this year? Or do you have a favorite costume from a previous year you'd like to share?
Last weekend, the ecology center where I work held a Wicked Walk which was a tour of "haunted" cabins and a hike through the woods in the dark. My job was to pass out refreshments and share some ghost stories at the campfire after the hike was over. Everyone dressed up and I became a bat. I needed a costume that was going to be warm enough but nothing that would catch on fire LOL!

Going back a few years... one of my favorite costumes was when I dressed as Cleopatra

and when I dressed as a little girl with her bear

But my most favorite costume was my Victorian outfit

I enjoyed making all these costumes and wore them not only at Halloween but for other occasions.

@BrightEyes beautiful costumes.

@Jeannette my son loves Halloween too and dresses up every year Love the way he looks in the wig.

@faerywings well of course you have wings--bat wings!!! very cute costume

I think my favorite was my Scream costume but I have no photo of it. The best part is the story

I went to our sons auto repair shop in it.
I had taken off my nail polish and rings, bought different shoes to wear, didn't wear perfume. I had my husband drop me off up the street. I went into the shop - I didn't say a word and even tried to walk differently- I gave candy to the girls in the office then went out into the shop gave candy to all the mechanics gave some to my son--everyone was trying to figure out who I was. Just as I was going out the door Mike said "it's my Mom that's her hair sticking out" sure enough it was sticking out from under the back of the mask. It was so much fun.

That night I hid in the shadows at my house and scared the trick or treaters as they came up the walkway.

What a sweet cuddly, cuddly bat !!! So sorry, no costumes here in my little village. Hopefully at least a few cute baby monsters will come by to grab some candy. Last year I was left with all the crafts and candy and had to eat it myself... :thud:

Beautiful, Cheryl!! And so imaginative! We only see a few children from the neighborhood dressed up. Unfortunately, the festival is not that popular here.

It's been elevated to one of the biggest "holidays" here, Susanne. When we lived in "neighborhoods", we spent SO much money on candy to hand out to all the little ghosts and goblins. :claphands:

Oh no! You had to eat the leftover (haha!) candy :eek: !

We always end up with some left over so I make sure I only buy the kind my family will eat too :)
