Google Photo?

Do you use Google Photo? What do you love about it?
Have you tried it and decided to not go with it? Why not?

I'm trying to decide. One of the things I DON'T like about this idea is that you have to sign all rights to your photos over to Google. Not that I take anything I'd be ashamed of, but still, it would be sort of shocking to see one of my photos show up in a Google ad (not that one WOULD!). I'll be professional photographers do NOT use Google Photo!

But oh my goodness...the way GP organizes your photos with no effort on your part! Very tempting.

I love the "O"
I tried it to upload my layouts there but there is no way to get a direct link to insert the layout in a forum, so I don´t use it

I kind of use it by default. My brother always sends me text pictures of my nephew, so I save them to my Andriod phone which syncs with Google Photos. I download and delete them.
If you delete a photo from Google, will they still have it? I hadn't thought about that at all. :(

I have started using it since Picasa went to Google Photos and they brought back some permission levels.

I know I've done my last few hosted pictures this way (like the fonts example in my challenge post for Nov.). It always seems like I have to play a few times though to get the right address, so it doesn't seem to be easy, but it can be done. I'll try and pay attention today when I upload my challenge layout and make sure I know how I did it.

So, I went to photos.google.com. I was already logged in. I went to my Cherry O 2016 album (which already has permissions that anyone with the link can view). I chose add to album, and then from my computer. I uploaded my photo. Scrolled down to the bottom where the photo was and clicked on it to bring it up. I right clicked on the photo and clicked "copy image address". Then I was able to paste that link in here at Oscraps when I hit the Insert Image (mountain) button.

i like flickr - can keep most of my photos/movies private - its great as its free as i cant afford cloud service . its pretty much unlimited for photos. think movies are limited in size.

also use it for ct pages

was thinking of trying google photos but read that is you delete photos on your hard drive it is deleted form there too. not so with flickr. one advantage google has though it accepts more formats such as psd files. flickr only does jpg and pngs.

Google Photo is free...unlimited storage!

I used Flickr several years ago and found it so user-unfriendly, I gave up on it. Maybe it is better now?

I am sure that is only if you are using the Google Photos application. I don't do that. I just upload on the web. There's no way they can delete the photos on my hard drive.

I also used Flickr for a long time. Gave it up years ago when Yahoo had so many security issues (not even counting the newest issues!). For a long time, I couldn't get back into my account either and their "Help" is completely nonexistent so I couldn't get back in. It was a real pain.
